Hi all
I did loads yesterday sorting out the spare BR - the sofabed did not want to go up the stairs and I sorted out the airing cupboard too. Hoovered all of the upstairs and the stairs. I then had a 2 hour zoom call in the evening!
Today I have done nothing! Nipped to the shops to get bread, milk and some other bits and picked up some compost as well as I have some planting to do.
Oh well tomorrow's another day and I am going to start tea shortly so will clean the kitchen then.
Hope everyone's having a good day.
Hugs

Afternoon ladies,
I have absolutely no idea where today has gone. The kids have driven me absolutely bonkers, disinclined to do any school work, listen to anything I'm saying, generally behave... I know the novelty has well and truly worn off for them now and they just want to be back at school. I am tired and grumpy today so not dealing with them as I normally would.
One load of washing line dried and just finishing off on the airer. Wood burner lit. I've got a chap coming tomorrow to inspect clogged drain, massive frog for me as I'm dreading what he'll say. All pipes are inside walls and drains under the decking, in my catastrophizing head the whole thing will need ripping out and my beautiful bathroom 😏😔😔 this is the way my head seems to work nowadays. Fear the worst, and assume if the worst does happen I wouldn't be able to deal with it.Anyway. I've got something nice for tea, kids having HM spag bol. Paddling pool with a hole in it is in the black bin. Bottle bank visit done, and some new undies sourced for the kids. Ooh I also cleaned the kitchen radiator using the Pink stuff and a magic eraser. It looks fab 😇8 -
Valli.. thank you... not sure that would work in here.. the kittens eat EVERYTHING!!!! One of the monsters keeping stealing my wool and chewing it to pieces.. I will be knitting him a muzzle if he continues! I caught him licking a top for Jazzles earlier so it has a little fluffy patch now!2x WM done.. I hung out what would fit and it is drying and only a few spots of rain so far.
DW done
Gammon in the oven.. doing new potatoes and veg with it.
OH sent to shop to refill the fruit and salad and bread.
Twinkle complaining of a sore throat again and her breath stinks so possibly got tonsillitis again.. I can't quite see one side but the other looks very swollen and red.
And OH shaved his face hair off.. he looks about 15 and I feel like extremely old and it has also made everyone very anxious... We all have our freaky issues in here!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Thanks for the buzz, dancemum - the migraine has taken the hint and I'm feeling a lot better after doing almost nothing (again) today. I am about to take Rosie for her walk and will clear the study floor and my desk and do some shredding when I come back. I also need to sort my finances file.dancemum said:Buzz off migraine vibes,Iona x...
Hope honey bear is ok. x
...I’m thinking about getting rid of the boys’ bunk beds as they are 17 & 23 (boys not beds) I don’t want to push the elder one away so am thinking of getting one of those beds with another underneath. Has anyone done this?
I know that Honey Bear is working hard for their local food bank. She occasionally posts on FB and we exchanged brief messages about our dogs last week, and she was OK then.
Re: trundle beds. I've got one of those in the study and it's very useful when my DGC come to stay. However, be aware that, in order to fit underneath, the trundle is a bit shorter and 6 inches narrower than the permanent bed - and of course you need to have enough floor space to pull it out (for me, that involves shifting the desk along to make room for my office chair next to it, so that I can leave a walkway of about 15 inches between the beds). Definitely ask the occupants of the bunks before you change! I am also finding it harder to set up/dismantle the bed on my own: it was easy when DH could help me, but he can't lean that far over now. Fortunately DGS1+2 take pride in helping to put all the furniture back at the end of their stay

Can't get the Quote button to work!

Pigpen and Valli, I have two methods of drying herbs of any kind. The easiest way is to spread them out on an open tray/baking tin in the freezer overnight, then bag up and keep frozen until needed. The alternative is to place the leaves on the microwave turntable and dry off on the lowest power for about 15 minutes, then crumble into empty herb jars. I've not tried either method with bay leaves, but because they are so thick I would probably freeze them, rather than risk not drying them sufficiently.
Off to fly to the woods with Rosie now, and meal plan as I do so!
(((Hugs))) all round, especially to asb, GWS vibes to Twinkle, and bonne Fete du Muguet to Mademoiselle.10 -
Hi all
Feeling a bit irritated that I am the only person in this house who actually does anything, despite the fact that I am also the only person working full time. Oh well. Exercise class first thing, 7 hours work, roast dinner cooked, hoovered and mopped downstairs, 2 loads of washing done, shopping delivery received and put away.
DS has an appointment with the consultant next Wednesday to discuss his scan results. He is convinced its going to be bad news, even though he feels well at the moment.
Asb hugs, I think its getting to everyone a bit now. Fingers crossed the drain problem isn't anything serious, at least you are getting it sorted.
My assistant at work collected my prescriptions for me and dropped them off on the doorstep today, together with a cake from the bakery around the corner from work. She put a little note in saying we will have coffee and cake together tomorrow, but me at home and her in the office. Made me feel quite emotional.8 -
YL he may just be thinking if he expects bad news he cant be disppointed.. I have everything crossed for him though .. it must be like living in limbo with no knowing what the future will bring.
Washing brought in, it's still a bit damp.
I just realised I made 4 different dinners tonight and there is not a single speck of food left! Chicken curry with rice, potato waffles with unicorns, gammon and new potatoes and peas and fish and salad.. ... tuna pasta tomorrow.

Work done.Ensuite cleaned.
Upstairs vacuumed.
Dinner cooked and kitchen tidied.
DH is apparently sorting dinner for tomorrow night. He is going to be very disappointed when the medal that he is expecting for doing this doesn’t materialise.
We are all rooting for your DS, YL x6 -
Despite my shameless canvassing of people I'm still second!
After I potted second batch of jam I mopped the floor. I don't quite get how the floor gets so sticky when I make jam.
Hoping to get in the garden tomorrow. I have alliums and primroses (donated) to plant. I think they need to go in the front. Or front and back...and hoping to get some grass roots out from the lumps which might have softened a bit in the rain.
