Well done maman!  I slipped tonight!  There was half bottle of wine left from Friday night and it was calling me so I've drunk it, still at least it's within syns!  So much for saying I was going to cut back on the alcohol this week, LOL!

Of course you can moan bubbs.  These threads are for whatever you need them for.

    Morning all.

You aren't the only one being thrown by the changes in routine bubbs - but lots of good advice from the other ladies.  Food posts looking good as always too.  I've only just had breakfast and now you're making me want to go back for jelly and ice cream (although separately, I've never been able to eat them together!)

WI this morning and I've put on 0.8, so essentially a pound.  Have been feeling bloated for a few days and noticed that I'm a bit puffy all over.  Not sure what's going on so upping the water intake and the peppermint tea in the hope that it will flush some of the excess water out.  Did have a few cheeky hobnobs over the weekend because the husband bought a packet and a can of my favourite pineapple fanta that he surprised me with.  Made me wish I was back in Florida!

    Plan for today:

B - Porridge (HEB oats, 1/2 HEA unsweetened almond milk), strawberries, blueberries, 1 syn choc pot
L - Prawn salad (mixed leaves, cucumber, tomatoes, carrot, pickles, prawns), 2 syns light mayo
D - Cheeseburger pasta with a mixed salad on the side

Hope you all have a good day!

Morning all.  It certainly sounds like water retention ruby so upping the fluid intake should definitely help - it always seems weird to me that you need to up fluid intake in order to get rid of water retention!!!

I'm not as badly off for syns as I was expecting.  Having totalled them up since WI on Thursday I'm left with 36 so that's 12 a day before WI on Thursday.

Have just had breakfast and I made it far too spicy so not actually eaten very much.  Suspect I'll be picking between now and lunchtime because I'm not full up!

    Today's plan:

B - kedgeree - rice; onions; spices; smoked haddock F; S; P, also stirred in some Greek yoghurt to try to cool it down a bit but still too spicy!
    L - beans on toast - HEB; F
    D - stir fry with pork and noodles - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - none planned but as I'm not full up this morning I may end up having a Hifi bar or two so that will be 6 syns

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Morning all, hope you are all doing well.

God I ached yesterday. Had to help deep clean a hall on Saturday in preparation for re-opening, had no idea how long we would be, obviously had to have limited people heloing,  so was cooking dinner at 6:30 Saturday morning, so that I could not be tempted when I got home, was there at 9:30 got back at 4, which I was actually quite pleased about, even if I had the most time consuming part as all of the tables & chairs had to be cleaned, thank goodness for steam cleaners! But, I had not used those muscles for lifting the tables out of the trolleys & back in again for months and did they let me know yesterday!  Was so glad I had cooked, because it would not have happened otherwise, was in bed & asleep by 10:30, shocking for a Saturday night, but I think I can safely say the body magic was definitely in operation for the day!

Yesterday I went to see a friend, we have not seen each other since about a month before lockdown, so that was good, she is an excellent cook, but I told her that I had to home for a zoom meeting at 8, it was only a little white lie, the meeting was at 9, but it meant that she did not need to cook (they had afternoon tea type Father's Day lunch before I got there) and I could definitely keep to plan.  The one good thing about Covid is travelling time, got home in 45 mins, even in late evening prior to this, it would take 1hr 10 -1 1/2 hours to get home and I didn't realise how much my car needed a decent motorway run.

Nothing major getting in my way this week, was up at 5:30 this morning doing  a YouTube fitness routine, easing myself in gently, they are 8 min sessions, so if I do one 5-6 days a week, I will hopefully start to shift a bit again.

A smile costs little but creates much :)

Shifting tables sounds like good (if painful) Body Magic GTQ.  I've got much lazier over time with lockdown. We've gone from a daily walk of at least an hour to almost nothing. I was doing some exercises at home as well but haven't done any for weeks. You've motivated me to do something today. It'll either be a walk or 10 minutes of exercise.

As I didn't measure my gin on Saturday I can only estimate my syns. I'm sure a quick flick of the wrist is more syns than using my jigger to get an accurate measure although they didn't taste particularly strong. I've probably got about 45-50 syns left. My plan is to eat whatever my friend makes tomorrow and eat almost syn free all the rest of the time until Thursday when the bank fills up again!

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), fried egg, bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- cold beef (P), fried veg and pickles (S) maybe a fried potato (F)
D- baked salmon (P), SW chips (F), asparagus, carrot chips, cauli steak, tomato, mushrooms (S)
    Syns- HP sauce 1
  • We often drink green tea nowadays. In which we combine cinnamon, lemon, ginger, honey, and a herb called senna leaves. This mixture gives a really good taste and boosts our immune system as well. I think you all must try this as this is very simple and easy to make.
  • Hi All.,

Sorry to hear you're feeling like that Bubbs - you're food always looks so good. Nothing wrong with a good moan and I'm sure you'll figure it out. Was it you who handed in your notice? If so, will you be able to get into a routine once you've finished work?

I've been completely off plan this weekend and fully expect to gain on WI on Friday. No binges, but a weekend of off-plan food and a care-free takeaway. This will probably sound bad, but I actually feel OK about it. Usually I would feel terrible and almost punish myself to keep on track, but I ate the food knowing that I've lost far more than I ever expected to by this time, I'm down 3 dress sizes and feeling good. SW is a lifestyle, absolutely, but I also know it's for the longhaul and as long as I know when to stop, reset and carry on, then a wobbly line on the graph is OK. It might take me a couple of weeks to get back to where I was, but it also took me years to put the weight on in the first place.

Back on it now, without living on rabbit food for the week. :-D

That's an excellent attitude CTWD. You're right, SW is a long term lifestyle choice. I always go off plan on holiday. Every other year, I'd be busy putting on at least half a stone in June. 🤣 I think the difference is that we get back on it when we've had the break that we've 'allowed' ourselves. 🙂

Absolutely maman.  I'm the same.  We have our one month holidays in France, usually June and September and I eat loads of french bread, crossants, pain au raisin, pain chocolate, you get the picture!  But also eat loads of salad, seafood & lean meat.  Veg has to be tinned as I just don't have the freezer space for frozen unfortunately.  I always take at least 6 weeks off from group to give myself half a chance of being back in target range when I go back!  I also try to be in the bottom half of the range before going but that doesn't always work out!

Really hoping we'll be able to go in September but unless the FCO withdraw the no overseas travel unless essential we won't be going!  No way am I travelling without proper health insurance including repatriation if necessary.
