Thanks for the replies about the sausages. I couldn't see the skinny ones, so bought beef chunks instead. I made a big slow cooker full and got 6 big portions out of it. I had one tonight and the rest are in the fridge and freezer.

Tomorrow, I will think of a different recipe to batch cook... Maybe a chicken curry!!!

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

Savoury mince is a good recipe for batch cooking.  You can use it for all sorts of things once defrosted, for example add tomatoes & Italian herbs for bolognaise, lasagne etc; add some chilli & kidney beans for chilli con carne, use it as it is for cottage pie etc.

Batch cooking is a great way to get plenty of HM ready meals into the freezer to help with meal planning, when you have really busy days or just CBA!

Will be back later with today's menu plan after I've got some washing on and had breakfast!

Right I'm back again having done the washing and got it out on the line, had breakfast and also our after breakfast coffee sitting in the garden as the weather is really good again.

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast - HEB; P; S; 2 Syns
L - Herby tuna stuffed potato skins (new recipe from this month's magazine) with green salad - P; S; F
D - jackfruit curry & rice (another new recipe as have had a tin of jackfruit in the cupboard for several months and not got round to using it!) - S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - butter 2; Alpen Light 3; nothing else planned

I am really struggling at the moment, I can't seem to stop eating crap.
So far today, I've been ok.  Have had overnight oats made with 40g of oats, 1/2 tub of muller light greek coconut & vanilla yoghurt and frozen fruit.
    A bit later I had a banana.
I'm not feeling too good today and my joints feel in constant pain, plus I have a headache, so not really in the mood to eat, if that's makes sense.
Have looked for jobs this morning and free online courses, to try and be productive.  Need to do some cleaning, but I don't think I can manage it today.
Has anyone been taking part in the virtual SW groups?  My membership ran out yesterday and my access to the website and app ended.  I didn't think it was worth doing it to be honest.  I have read that the £2.50 a week charge for this is going up to £3.75 soon.  I know some people are just paying it to keep access to the website and app.  If it's just recipes you're after though, plenty of those can be found online for free.
I am thinking about going with calorie counting, as ever since I re-joined SW in December 2018, I lost nothing at all and was just wasting my money, even though I was following the plan to the letter.
I hope everyone has a good day. x

Sorry to hear that Abbafan.  I wonder why it was it didn't work for you.  If you didn't lose anything in your first 4 weeks, assuming you filled in your diary sheets and handed them in to your consultant, she should have given you your money back as that is a guarantee that SW make.

Good luck with the calorie counting.  It's not something I could do I'd soon get fed up with having to weigh and measure everything and count how many calories I've eaten!

If you decide to carry on with SW you can always ask for Syn values on here and post your menu plans if you think that might help.

Your dinner looked delicious last night YCM. Hope it went down well.

Sorry to hear you haven't done well with SW lately abbafan. Your breakfast today and your snack sound fine. As you've got a little bit more time on your hands then if you wanted to keep going we'd willingly look at your menus for you. Did you lose nothing or lose and then regain any losses? Like denise said, I wouldn't want to try calorie counting. Aside from the measuring, I know I'd feel deprived and hungry.

This month's magazine seems to have better recipes than usual denise. Let us know what you thought of the potato skins.

We've had another walk in the glorious sunshine today. Not too far (6 000+ steps) but it was a joy to be out.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
    L- cold beef (P), 2 potatoes (F), fried veg, beetroot, cornichons (S)
D- chicken casserole (P,S) with new potatoes (F), butterbeans, cauli, cabbage, kale, broccoli (S)
Syns- HP sauce 1. cornflour 1

You're right maman this month's magazine is probably the best there's been for a couple of years!  Don't think I've ever used so many recipes out of one magazine!

The potato skins were OK but it's quite a faff so probably won't do them again, well certainly not as a lunch!  Quite honestly I think I'd rather just scoop out the flesh and mix it with some grated cheese and remake it!  The spinach salad was really nice but far more than we wanted with it and I didn't even use as much spinach as the recipe said (I only made half as it's just for 2 of us).  Said it should be 75g spinach & 100g tomatoes I used 55g spinach and 60g of tomatoes and it was masses, did use half bunch of spring onions and 2 stick of celery plus probably 1/3 of cucumber.  The dressing wasn't bad either.

Had a mini Vienna lolly earlier so an extra 4 Syns used but may not want or need the Alpen Light later so we'll see.  I've got plenty of syns left again this week (still got 22.5 syns left after the 6 I've already had today, so looking quite likely that I'll be under syns for the week!).

We're making the beef ragu from the magazine tomorrow. We also made the chicken sharwama which was nice but didn't like the red pepper humous it came with so we quickly made some rice to go with it!
