I hope no one minds me crashing in and introducing myselfI've done SW twice before, first time was 12 years ago and it was only red/green days then, second time was a few years later and EE had been introduced. I'll admit I didn't seem to do so well on EE, but I don't think my mindset was right at the time.
Anyway, after losing nearly 3st last year doing intermittent fasting and low carb, I seem to have come to a massive standstill. I'm not losing, not gaining... So I have decided to come back to SW to see if that helps. I took up running this year and find that Low Carb was leaving me pretty lethargic for running, so I'm hoping eating a few more carbs on the SW plan will help me improve my runs. I will be doing it from home, and my sister has given me her books (she got them in December, so they are new).
I started today, but A, forgot to weigh in. B, have a ton of junk food in (although that probably won't change much while coronavirus is still knocking about, and C, I had already planned to trial a new cocktail tonight (sex on the beach) so orange juice and cranberry juice will be consumed, of which I usually drink neither. Usually I drink rum or gin with diet mixer.
I just want to check what I have had is ok
2 x eggs scrambled, 2 rasher of bacon fat removed.
Jacket potato with beans (no butter)
HM curry, using tinned toms and curry powder, served with mixed veg (frozen aldi stuff) and a small portion of rice.
A banana - which I am devastated to read is now 4syns!! Gutted!!
Fingers crossed I can get the rest of this flubber off.
Your food looks ok but you need more speed, have toms & mushrooms with your scrambled egg & bacon, have a salad with your jacket and beans, also make sure tou drink plenty of fluids, no alcohol !
Banana is free longs its not cooked or mashed
I am not a member, so am having to google for syns/free food etc. I read that bananas now have syns.. I will be doing cartwheels if they don't.
Yeah, I don't have much in at the minute as doing V. low carb a lot of veg/fruit is off the menu, so I will need to get to the shops this week and buy a few bits.
I have been trying to keep my water intake up. I don't always manage the 2l, but am doing my best.
I want to increase my carb allowance slightly, but I can't go all out. I'll allow myself a few slices of bread throughout the week and very small portions of rice, Maybe some weetabix or oats on a few occasions too. I will definitely be having bananas as they are great for energy if running

Sorry I forgot to say Welcome redmel when I posted last night so I'll say it now - Welcome.
Looking to be another nice day although not particularly warm at the moment, hopefully it'll warm up later! Having a less busy today. Won't be doing much other than a bit of housework and cooking.
Today's plan:
B - fry up - bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans
L - pizza using WW wrap with salad - wrap topped with tomato sauce, onion, pepper, mozzarella - HEB; HEA2; S
D - roast pork, roast potatoes, roasted carrots, peppers & onions, green veg of some sort! Followed by baked egg custard; mixed frozen fruit
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - mozzarella
HEB - WW wrap
Syns - none planned, went over yesterday but only by a few so they're there if I want something

Right I'm having my usual breakfast that I have most days, and have a good dinner planned. But I need lunch ideas please. I'm always starving by lunchtime then need to make it last til tea without snacking which is my biggest downfall. I HATE lunchtimes, it's where I always inevitably spend the most syns.
Breakky: seeded bagel (HEB) with Philadelphia light (1 HEA) with corned beef (1.5 syns) and loads of cherry tomatoes
Lunch: ?
Dinner: Salmon (covered in herbs) with baby potatoes cooked in the air fryer and a load of veggies.0 -
I know SW is meant to be the plan where you don't feel hungry but in these early weeks I often do. Trying to eat free food when I do, like ham or chicken or a boiled egg.0

Definitely no need to feel hungry YCM. Like you I almost always have my HEB at breakfast time so that's out for lunches. I find omelettes filling at lunchtimes. I'll make a veggie one with 2 or 3 eggs and then have perhaps a slice of ham and a pile of pickles (beetroot, cornichons, pickled cabbage) on the side. When I've had a 'roast' type dinner I deliberately cook loads of extra veg so that I can have bubble &squeak the next day with cold meat and yet more pickles.
Pasta salads are filling and you can make a lot and keep snacking on it if you want. I like one made with roasted veg and a bit of tomato puree to 'wet' it. My other go to lunch is a jacket potato. My favourite topping is cottage cheese perhaps with spring onions chopped in and then more pickles on the side. Hope that helps.

This is the baked corned beef hash recipe that I use:
4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
1 TBS vegetable oil
1 onion, peeled and diced
1 red pepper, deseeded and chopped
1 large tin of corned beef, chopped
1 to 2 TBS creamed horseradish
142 ml of double cream (a scant 1/2 cup)
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
chopped fresh flat leaf parsley to garnish
Boil the potatoes in a pot of lightly salted water for about 5 minutes. Drain well and allow to dry slightly before proceeding.
Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the onion and peppers. Cook for about 5 minutes until they begin to soften. Tip in the dried potatoes. Cook and stir for about 10 minutes until they start to turn golden brown. Stir through the corned beef. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Whisk the cream and horseradish together. Fold into the hash.
Preheat the oven to 200*C/ 400*F/ gas mark 6. Tip the hash into a lightly buttered casserole dish, leaving it a bit craggy. Place into the oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, until bubbling and beginning to brown.
Note - If desired you can top the hash with some grated strong cheddar cheese and pop it under the grill to toast.
To adapt to SW, I use Frylight obviously. I often add leeks, carrots, mushrooms or courgettes to up the Speed. I use 2tbsps of horseradish sauce and thin it out with some milk and/or water. I slice tomatoes on the top and then grated parmesan now that we can have the second HEA.
Princes do a 200g tin of low fat corned beef which is 3 syns and the horseradish sauce is 2. That's 5 for the whole recipe. (If I use other corned beef, then I just try and shave off as much fat as I can. We're greedy so that's 2 generous portions for us with greens on the side and a portion left for my lunch the next day.)

Do ask if you want any syn values redmel. Most of us have access to syns online so that's not a problem.
Are you restricting carbs for health reasons? Otherwise I don't think it makes a huge difference. SW do a plan called SP (Speed/Protein) which is low carb but it's not recommended as a permanent thing. Briefly, instead of the third of everything that is EE, SP is 50:50 Speed (most fruit and veg) and Protein (lean meat, fish, pulses).
I boiled a piece of gammon yesterday and made soup from the stock so that's some for the freezer and some with my lunch today. I'll slice up the gammon later and freeze in portions.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, baked beans (F), bacon, fried egg (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- lentil and veg soup (P,S), sardines (P) and pickled cabbage (S)
D- roast beef (P), SW roast potatoes (F), cabbage, kale, cauli, broccoli, red cabbage, swede & carrot mash
Syns- HM gravy 4?, horseradish 1, weekend wine

Like Maman I often have jacket potato for lunch with various toppings: cottage cheese, baked beans, tuna mayo (I use LTL mayo as it's only 0.5 Syns per Tbs); chilli, curry, the list goes on! Almost always have salad with it.
Today's pizza using the WW wrap was OK but think I'd rather use the wrap as it's intended. One of my favourite ways is with LO roast chicken, Rosemary & Red Onion stuffing balls broken up & salad. I've only got one wrap left in the freezer so that's probably what I'll do next time I have roast chicken!
