The slow cooked cottage pie was lovely.  The meat was so tender but when I checked it after just over 2 hours most of the stock had disappeared so I had to add more.  I think there is probably too much cornflour in the recipe but once I'd added the extra liquid and cooked it another half hour or so it was fine.  Ended up not bothering making it into a cottage pie and just had it on the plate with mash & cabbage.  Will definitely do it again so it's going in KEEP file.

I really wish I liked sardines mamabut it's one of the few fish I don't like.  DH loves them.

Probably won't have any alcohol syns tonight as used quite a few of them last night on rum!  Have had an extra 1.5 syns at lunchtime for some olives.

    Morning all 👋🏻
WI with a LOSS (finally) of 3lb 🥳, just need to keep it up now 🥴
Still managing to do 15mins on the bike, even did it after a days work (wiped me out next day 🥺) and am drinking more water 🥰. Long may it last 🥴
Hubby is not helping as he has the bread making bug, also made fruit teacakes 🤤 and has been making a sourdough starter so there is a loaf made this morning 😱.
So far I have resisted 😇
Had a zoom meeting with my job share and couple of children from school which was hilarious but good to see the family are doing ok.
Hope you all are keeping well too 🥰
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Well done tie. That's a really good loss.
Strange how people have turned to bread making during lockdown. No problem with your DH making it  provided he eats it. I don't suppose you'll be tempted though as it'll upset your stomach and that's the last thing you need. Sorry to hear you're tired after a day at school.

KFC has now become a Friday night favourite bubbs. I'm converted to using thighs as well, far more tasty than breast fillets and more mse.  The slow cooked cottage pie mixture sounds delicious denise. I looked at the recipe and it's very similar to the way I make beef in 'red wine'. I use onions and mushrooms instead of leeks and carrots and use half and half Tesco red wine pot and beef stock. Jamie Oliver did something similar on his Lockdown show using shin of beef but Aldi don't sell that although sometimes it's no cheaper than diced beef.

I didn't have sardines after all yesterday as I had a JP after I went shopping. I do enjoy them though but only the plain ones rather than in tomato sauce which are more widely available. I  like mackerel in mustard sauce  and that's free too. Plenty of stock in Aldi yesterday and probably only 10 minutes extra queuing compared with a Thursday.

A bit eggy today but I'm running short of ideas for lunch. I'll make some soup later in the week so that'll help.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), HEB toast, HEA milk, fried eggs (P)
    L- veggie omelette (P,S) with beetroot (S)
D- Aldi chicken curry (P,S) with HM pilau and SW chips (F), extra veg (S)
Syns: curry 1, HP sauce 1, weekend wine

Been busy morning!  Machine load of washing first thing followed by breakfast.  Then did a click and collect order from Wickes for some farmyard manure - had a look on Amazon last night and it was nearly £20 a bag for the exact same bags as I ordered from Wickes for £4.50 a bag!

Once we got home DH spread it over the new bed he's just filled with top soil and I dug it in.  Planted some flower seeds along the back order and have put some lavender plants at one end next to the steps where we walk up to the main bit of garden so hopefully should get a nice smell going past!

Also made some falafel mix which has been firming up in the fridge for a couple of hours and have just cooked them so now have some Free snacks, rather than picking at biscuits!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up - bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans - P; S; F
    L - cheese on toast - HEB; HEA2; P (for egg); F (mustard powder & Worcester sauce)
    D - corned beef hash - F; S; 2.5

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - corned beef 2.5; weekend alcohol, either gin or rum

I lost 1.5 this week so got my half stone award. I'm pleased, but I've had it three times before when I was a member and then I quit. So I am absolutely determined to get my first ever 1 stone award... shame my willpower is so lacking. We had a massive takeaway last night including a huge biscoff ice cream milkshake.

Well done on your half stone award.  Takeaways really don't help when you're trying to lose weight.  If you really must have one how about a chicken kebab & salad and no pitta!  All free foods and very enjoyable too!

Have to admit I'm not keen on corned beef hash especially the way that DH likes it!  Soften an onion while you cook some small cubes of potato.  Once the onions are very soft add the cubed potatoes and brown them off.  Add a can of beans and about 150g of cubed corned beef and mix it all together until heated through.  It certainly looks a mess when it's dished up but DH loves it and I eat it because I refuse to cook myself something different.  For that reason we don't have it very often!

The recipe is only enough for 2 people so you'd need to double up if you need to cook for 4 people etc.

I'm with you both bubbs and maman with using thighs rather than breast for Fakeaway KFC.  Really need to do this more often as we both really like.  Always do it with HM oven chips, corn on the cob, beans & salad so makes it a great Free meal.

Thanks for the recipe! Chicken kebab is a good idea, thank you. I am a shocker for emotional eating and wife usually caves in and the pair of us sit there wishing we hadn't after! Useless!
