Thank you all for your lunch ideas, I luckily eat at home as I go home for the dog, I don’t have much time to prepare so reheat is good, think I will do a chilli for next week but pack it out with veg just for a nice change. My dinner last night was lovely with the roasted veg and the gammon, tonight will be similar whoops as I forgot to defrost anything this morning before I left for work.

Morning all, weather not looking too good this morning so will leave the rest of the washing until tomorrow when it's forecast to be a bit better, although much colder.  Need to go and do my main shop today including another trip to the butchers as I need some burgers and they're the only ones we eat now (unless I can be bothered to make my own!).

As I suspected the back to basics and sticking to less than 15 syns a day did not work!  It was yet another Maintain.  I just don't know how I am going to get the weight moving again.  I can't do SP days which is what is usually suggested when anyone at group has the same problem!  I'm also drinking plenty of fluids (and I know that alcohol doesn't count, LOL)!

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
    L - mixed veg soup with lentils - S; F; P
    D - lamb & chickpea tagine, herby couscous - P; S; F; 7

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - 12.5g flaked almonds; 15g semi dried apricots

Think I'm going to go back to my usual way of eating/drinking as sticking to plan didn't work this week and to be honest it's quite hard using syns daily and I seemed to be eating things I wouldn't normally eat!

  • Morning all!  Ankle survived the walk and we even went the long way home.  Going to get back into my exercise program tonight but will leave the running till the weekend and see how it goes.

maman - yes I use frozen raspberries as they're just easier and don't actually give off a lot of juice when they melt in the porridge unlike other frozen berries, which kind of creeps me out a little bit

klew - I'm a big lover of leftovers for lunch or I like to make a big batch of something at the weekend and have it portioned up in the fridge ready to go for the week.  I find that the more I have to think about what I'm going to eat, the more likely I am to make bad decisions

Sounds like a better plan for you denise - sometimes I feel that the "plan" is all well and good but it doesn't work for everyone in the exact way that SW sell it as - you just need to find what works for you.

Had porridge again for breakfast this morning, lunch will be chicken and mushroom soup and dinner will be sweet and sour tofu with the leftovers for lunch tomorrow.  Off to make a latte before getting on with some more work, hope you all have a good day.

yes im the same with bad decisions! the key to this weight loss is being organised, and i think, drinking lots of water/juice. glad the ankle is a bit better!

Have just updated my menu plan for today as forgot the syns in the tagine for semi dried apricots and flaked almonds so it's actually 7 syns so far today.

Glad the ankle held up ruby.  Just take care of it because once you have a weak ankle it's always weak.  I badly sprained mine way back in the 80s, had to rest it for 10 days! and I've always had weak ankles since then.

You must have better weather than us bubbs!  Not seen any sun at all and have had some rain too but at least we didn't have any frost.  It was cold but not that cold.  Still looking really grey and miserable.

Shame that the 'back to basics' didn't work for you denise. At least you've ruled out tweaking the plan/using syn bank  as a reason for not losing. I put clean jeans on today and I'm convinced I'm a few pounds out of range. I know I've ended the past two weeks with 10-12 syns to spare.  Last night I even weighed the cheese for the cottage pie topping. I think I'll just plod on an hope for the best! 😉

I'm using up a bag of mixed berries  ruby but I know what you mean about the scary juice. When they're gone I'll replace with raspberries as they're probably my favourite anyway.

I'm feeling very despondent about moving into Tier 2, so much less fun than Tier 1. More shopping is a poor alternative to dancing and meeting a few friends. Not helped that my brother phoned from Wales and things are much better there since their Firebreak. Tonight an online delivery  (mostly wine😉) is coming and I am very tempted to bring the weekend forward. 🤔

We did have a walk this morning. Not that many steps because we carried on with the shoreline but a very shingly stretch so a bit slow and laboured.  Weather was fine though bubbs. Although I wrapped up well there was no wind so didn't feel cold.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, red berries (S)
L- LO cottage pie and veg (P,S,F)
    D- SW Bolognese (P,S) with pasta (F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Syn- 0 (hopefully😉)

We're in Tier 3 - was in Tier 1 prior to lockdown but cases have been rampant in my part of Kent, a lot of the cases are in the 3 prisons on Isle of Sheppey!  Also I suspect it didn't help when lots of families came down from London during the half term holiday.  Hopefully the case numbers will start falling again over the next couple of weeks when the 1st review is due and we can move to Tier 2 - at least then we could go out for a meal if we wanted to!

Have to admit I'm moving the weekend forward to tonight!!!!  I'm really p*d off with not losing again and with being put into Tier 3!  Oh well, will see how things go this week going back to my "normal" way of doing SW.  Definitely going over syns today!

I don't understand why I didn't lose this week and it's really p'd me off!  I'll probably end up drinking the whole bottle so 2 days syns but hey ho, I'll pull it back as usual.
