Morning all. Thanks again for the welcomes
Plan for today:
B- bagel thin (HEB) with cream cheese (1/2 HEA), corned beef (1.5) and cherry tomatoes.
L- leftover pulled pork on sweet potato jackets with salad
D- Porky Lights sausages (2.5 each) with butternut squash slices and veg.2 -
WSE what cream cheese and how much are using for 0.5 HEA? The only one I can see is the Primula Light. There are plenty of lower Syn sausages than Porky Lights. Apparently the Aldi skinny sausages are supposed to be good at 1 syn each. I'm lucky in that my local butcher makes low fat sausages which are also 1 syn so no need for me to buy manufactured ones.
Beth - well done on another great loss and getting your 7lb shiny so quickly.
Weather has really changed since first thing this morning it's really warm and sunny again! Have been pottering in the garden for a while and also sitting down with a cup of black coffee earlier. Just in a t-shirt no jumper. Haven't bothered changing into shorts though because every time I do that the sun disappears behind a cloud, LOL!

Aldi Skinny sausages are half a syn each!
I find the skins can sometimes be a bit tough but they taste good. Quite good value for money too compared with some brands.
Are you saving syns WSE, as you don't seem to have many planned for today? Many of us do that on here. I have most of mine at weekends. It's not the official SW way but it works for us. Other than the question over your HEA, your menu looks good for today but make sure you eat plenty, depriving yourself is a sure way of getting bored and giving up.
I just logged on to the website and they asked to update my details. It's 10 years (last week of September) since I started SW. I got to target the following August, so 9 years this year. Best thing I've ever done for health, general feeling of wellbeing and vanity!!
I batch cooked swede & carrot mash yesterday so that's one for today and the rest in the freezer. Boris is really messing up my plans for today. We're usually just about to have dinner when his broadcast is scheduled. Thankfully he's doing it after wine o' clock though because I'll need a drink to cope with the excitement of a new slogan and a trip to the tip!
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), scrambled eggs, ham (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- veggie chilli (P,S) with brown rice (F) and cottage cheese (P)
D- JO roast pork (P), SW roast potatoes (F), cauli, cabbage, kale, swede & carrot mash, red cabbage
Syns- HP sauce 1, HM gravy 4?, weekend wine

Afternoon all! Windy one here and sun now gone in, was ok this morning on dogwalk, still warm & sunny. Maman and anyone else interested, I made Sweet & Sour Chicken the other day after seeing a recipe on Instagram with NO SYNS! Fry your chicken in Frylight, add all your veg. Then you add enough Diet Fizzy Orange (Fanta or own brand) to cover, 2 veg stock cubes, carton of passata, some chilli flakes/paste, dash of vinegar. Simmer to reduce and voilà! We really liked it and will make it again. Might try a Quorn version so DD can eat it too.

Thanks maman, hadn't realised Aldi sausages were only 0.5, I thought they were 1 each so that's even better but I'll stick with my butcher ones 'cos I like them!
I've got a syn free Sweet & Sour sauce recipe which doesn't use diet fizzy drinks just store cupboard stuff. I'll sort it out and post it later once I've gone through my folder to find it! It still needs sorting out, just haven't got round to it.
I've eaten some of the falafels after my tuna and cucumber roll. I absolutely love them while they're still warm - like them cold too. I made about 20 so by the time DH and I had a few each I think there's a dozen left.
Sun's gone here too and I've needed to put my jumper back on but it was still much warmer than I was expecting from the forecast.

As promised, Syn Free Sweet & Sour sauce (it's actually 1 syn for the whole recipe which supposedly serves 4 but DH and I manage to use it all!).
1/4 tsp Chinese 5 spice; 2 garlic cloves finely chopped; 1 level Tbs; 4 Tbs tomato puree; 1 Tbs white wine vinegar; 4 Tbs light soy sauce; sweetener to taste; 150ml stock (use whatever goes best with what you're cooking); fresh pineapple (optional)
Mix 2 Tbs water with the 5 spice, garlic, cornflour, tomato puree, white wine vinegar, soy sauce & stock. Add mixture to pan of pork, chicken or whatever you're cooking and bring to boil and then reduce heat to low and cook for 3-4 minutes until thickened. Stir through chopped fresh pineapple at the end if you like. You can use tinned but obviously that would be Syns.
You can make the sauce completely syn free by using Xanthum gum (gluten free thickener) in the pan once it's up to boiling point but you'll need far less than a Tbs, nearer 1/2-1 tsp.

Morning all. Running a bit late this morning we still haven't had breakfast! Not because I didn't get up early enough just that I couldn't be bothered to get going. The weather doesn't look too nice this morning, it's still really windy. The trellis at the top of next door's fence has come down into our garden! That's going back into their garden to sort out, they've already got 2 other trellises missing and haven't bothered doing anything about them.
Had a sneaky look at the scales this morning and I'm surprised to see that I'm now back to bang on target - first time since we got back from France mid March! Just hope it carries on in that direction for proper WI day on Thursday!
Today's plan:
B - baked oats; mixed frozen fruit - HEB; S; P; S
L - cheese salad - HEA2; S
D - chicken tagine; herby couscous - P; S; F - will use up the LO chicken from yesterday. It was really bland so thought it better to spice it up a bit rather than just having it cold with chips which was the original plan!
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - oats
Syns - none planned but have 22 left to use between now and Wednesday so 7 a day. Might have a couple of party rings or a cereal bar later with a cuppa if I fancy it. Just snacked on falafels yesterday and still have a few left so might just have those again.
Have a good day everyone and stay safe.
