Trying to be super good today after eating out to help out last night, wasn’t too bad and could have been a lot worse. Had a good night though and that’s the main thing. Also consumed no alcohol.

B – fruit and fibre semi skimmed milk

L – baked potato beans and cheese with roasted veg (needed something warm in the horrible weather and before spinning tonight)
D – tuna salad – lettuce, toms, cucumber, celery, pickled onions (tuna in natural yoghurt)

S – French fries (the crisps)

  • Oooh, thanks for suggestions for the picnic, now need to decide which yummy foods to take!
A smile costs little but creates much :)

GTQ I like to make scotch eggs for picnics too.  I make syn free ones by wrapping defrosted Linda McCartney sausages around the egg and baking.  If you wanted breadcrumbs as well you could dip in beaten egg and coat in breadcrumbs using your HEB before baking but I never bother!

As I was on the right side of the city, I went to Tesco after my dental appointment. Pleased to get Primula Light (with a nice long sell by as I don't need it yet), their cheap Stockwell's instant potato (prefer these flakes to the smooth powder) , a few bags of tagliatelle (at 55p it's far better value than anywhere else) and some YS pork and chicken. Well worth a visit. 😁

I enjoyed the Pasta Peperonata at lunchtime and will definitely make it again. It takes longer (about 30 mins) to cook than my usual lunches but I didn't mind today as I was in the kitchen prepping dinner anyway. The recipe called for some red wine vinegar and I think a splash would have been enough as it was a bit sharp. I notice other recipes use balsamic or a tsp of honey with the vinegar so I'll try that next time.

I got Primula Light in Morries today and they had it reduced to £1 a tube so I picked up a couple.  No plans for them but I'll take away with us if we haven't used them before we go.

Morning all.  Still quite windy but not as bad as yesterday and it's dry.

    Today's plan:

    B - weetabix/milk topped with fruit - HEA/HEB; S
L - eating out so not sure yet but will involve syns but have plenty left!
D - depends how full we are after eating out but probably something with chips!

    HEA1 & 2 - milk
    HEB - Weetabix
    Syns - who knows!

    Have a good day everyone.
