My mistake bubbs but I had actually seen that maman had posted and never occurred to me that you hadn't seen it!
Have got a load of washing in the machine which I'll get out on the line shortly and hope that the rain holds off. There's an amber weather warning for storms today for my area.
Messaged my consultant this morning and I'm booked to WI on Thursday at 9am. Had a quick check this morning and I'm currently bang on target but hoping if I can keep very low syn from today until WI I'll manage a small loss but no probs if I don't.
Today's plan:
B - eggs on toast - HEB; P
L - salmon gradvalax with salad - P; S; 0.5
D - chana masala/rice - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - gradvalax 0.5

This is the Turkey Rissole recipe-
Prep 25 min
Cook 20 minINGREDIENTS
30g couscous
Bunch of spring onions
½ tbsp olive oil
300g turkey mince
25g dill
25g flat-leaf parsley
10g coriander
1 egg
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Method
Place the couscous in a bowl and cover with 50ml boiling water. Stretch clingfilm over the bowl. Leave to hydrate. Thinly slice the spring onions. Soften gently in half a tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan, then tip into a mixing bowl. Add forked, hydrated couscous, turkey and chopped herbs. Whisk the egg with a fork and add that too. Use the fork to mix thoroughly, patting into a ball. Roughly quarter the mix in the bowl. With wet hands, pinch off small handfuls and form into little patties-!!!!!!-balls, transferring to a shallow oven tin smeared with one tablespoon of olive oil as you go. Chill.Heat the oven to 200C/gas 6. Roast the rissoles for 10 min.
This doesn’t need much adapting to make it SW friendly. As I had a pack of 500g of mince I adjusted ingredients accordingly to 50g of couscous and a bit more water. I used dried herbs and spices. I used 2tsps of dill and parsley and 1 tsp of coriander and some salt and pepper. They end up quite mild. If you like food more spicy then I’d up the coriander or add other things like paprika or chilli powder or even curry powder. I didn’t want to use up all my spring onions so I used some of them and a finely chopped red onion. I softened them with a splash of water in the microwave as it’s quicker than a frying pan. I always do this with onions. You could add capers or chopped gherkins or whatever. It’s very versatile and good for using turkey mince which I often see YS.

JoDenise I was a member for 8 years or maybe more, a lot of that time a target member. But the weight crept back on to virtually my pre SW weight and I’ve been having a job and a half getting the motivation to loose it again. I was halfway through a countdown that was going to be my decider - if I hadn’t got near target I was going to save myself the money for myself - if I was at or close to I was going to stick with it - then COVID hit. I’m not into doing the zoom meetings so gave up when my countdown finished and decided to go it alone. I’d got into the frame of mind that being in SW would make me loose weight like magic without me doing anything to help 🤪😳 Something has clicked again - I know I need to and want to loose best part of 2 stone. Dh is also on board which has made it much easier.
I’ve discovered the mystery syns in the falafel dh made......😂😂😂and it wasn’t old socks 😂😂😂😂😂 there were breadcrumbs in them. So I’ll see if I can find a synfree version next time. I do really miss the SW website and group so a lot of the things I’m synning are from memory.....feel free to correct me. I might go back once things get back to some kind of normality as I miss the friends I’ve made too. There’s some delicious looking food being posted. This is something I used to do - take photos- you’ve inspired me to do the same again - thanks everyone👍 If you don’t mind I’ll post when I remember and if I can figure out how to do it.I’m going out for a meal at Tom Kerridge restaurant on my birthday weekend at the end of September- my aim is to get into a dress that I can’t fit into atm and wear it then - a bit ambitious but I might just do it if I stay focused 🤔👍 A girls got to have an aim 😀🤞😀January spends - £587.582 -
Brilliant loss klew and you too milann. 😁
Which chicken curry recipe are you using klew? I'm always looking for a good HM curry.
Good to see you back beth. I wouldn't worry about portion sizes. I find that by having 3 big SW friendly meals a day I rarely want to snack.
There's a new 'Family Favourites' Jamie Oliver programme on tonight. I like some of Jamie's recipes so I'll be watching in case there's anything I can adapt to SW. What I liked about his lockdown programme was that he talks about how you can adapt recipes to use what's available.
Sorry to hear about your tooth ruby. I can understand eating ice cream but not sure about medicinal properties of pizza?? 😉😁 I've got a loose tooth which has got worse in the 8 months+ since my last dental appointment. Fortunately it's not painful just a bit worrying. They are back at work but just doing emergencies/triage and slowly working through missed appointments. I suppose the people being seen are those that had their last routine check ups late September.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, banana. skinny syrup (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk
L- cold meat (P), fried potato (F), fried veg (S)
D- baked haddock (P), Concannon type mash (F,S), broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms (S)
Syns- 0 😇1 -

I think I miss posts too bubbs. For example I hadn't seen Ruby's post about her tooth so must have missed that one!
Thanks for the recipe maman, it looks quite adaptable and flexible. Will definitely give that a try when I get some chicken or turkey mince.

I love a picky tea.
Think I’ll be giving the turkey rissoles a go - like you say very versatile. Thanks for the recipe mamanJanuary spends - £587.581 -
Oooh milann I've always wanted to eat at Tom Kerridge's Hand and Flowers or just any of his places as his food always looks so amazing! I'm also aiming to get into a nice dress for our wedding anniversary at the end of October as we're going back to the hotel we stayed at on our wedding night and having dinner in their amazing restaurant.
maman those rissoles sound very similar to the herby pork balls I had for most of my lunches last week but mine were a Nigel Slater recipe; essentially pork mince with dried mint and thyme, spring onions and rolled into balls and fried in frylight. Oh and the medicinal pizza was well, my husband used me feeling rubbish as an excuse to order pizza. Had to eat it with a knife and fork because my problem tooth is right at the front and I didn't want to be biting into anything
I'm another one who is missing posts left right and centre - the notifications weren't working for me for most of last week so I was just relying on going through my usual threads and seeing if anyone had updated.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20171 -
Do ask if you want any syn values milann. There's usually someone around that can look them up quickly for you. I noticed the other day (Saturday?) that you'd synned some crackers but you hadn't had a HEB. Provided you like them, it's worth buying some Ryvita or similar.
That being said, the new SW site is pretty poor IMO. Does anyone know where to find the lists of HEBs? I know you can check if an individual product is a HEB or not but I'd like to see a list so I know what's available to try before I go shopping.
Great idea to have a target of getting into a favourite dress. I'm sure goals like that help more than just numbers.😊2 -
Hello all, apologies for going AWOL, I just don't know where the time goes at the moment.
I've only read back a couple of pages but it seems like it's the time for poorly teeth, I have a wisdom tooth infection that's caused one whole side of my face to swell up. Spoke to an emergency dentist on Saturday and made the one-hour round trip to pick up a prescription for antibiotics but they've not touched it so waiting for my own dentist to call me back now. Luckily it's not too painful as long as I keep on top of the merry-go-round of paracetamol and ibuprofen throughout the day. It's putting me off eating much which can only be a good thing.
WI update for last two weeks:
08.08.2020 - 1lb loss
15.08.2020 - 3lb gain
Was anyone doing a chart, I can't remember who, sorry! Thanks if so!
Plan for today is:
B - All Bran
D - Spiced carrot and lentil soup
T - Beef and mushroom curry with brown rice
HEA - Milk
HEB - All Bran
Syns - Sugar in coffee (4), maybe a hot chocolate (2) = 6
That's it, maybe some cantaloupe if I want a snack but I don't really fancy putting anything in my mouth at the moment
Hope everyone's keeping well, and being better behaved than me!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb1
