Good to see you posting tete. 🙂 Good decision to jump back on the wagon.
Arrabiata is tomato sauce with garlic and chilli bubbs. I noticed there's a garlic and herb one as well for half a syn. I need to go to M&S again as they still don't have any grapefruit squash in Sainsburys and started the last bottle today . ☹️
We had a good time this afternoon and not a syn passed my lips. 😁 I had an early lunch as I had LOs to use up and then a rapid freezer meal when we got back. It's so easy to do brown rice in advance and freeze my own microwave pouches. 🙂
Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk
L - cold turkey (P). fried vegetables and beetroot (S)
D - veggie chilli (P, S,), brown rice (F), cottage cheese (P)
Syns - 0😁2 -

Welcome back Tete nice to 'see' you again. Like you I got hyper stressed in the run up to lockdown, which set me into a tailspin. I caught COVID and developed symptoms 1st April, and I've had intermittent symptoms ever since. My biggest challenge was fatigue, but unlike other illnesses it didn't affect my appetite for more than about 5 days or so initially, and after that I've absolutely craved carbs. The lack of energy just means I've gone for easy food like toast. No taste or smell meant I was craving anything salty that could give me a sensation of taste, so crisps/doritos etc were eaten by the bucket load. Anyway, like you I've decided enough is enough. I'm now back at work p/t but it's just as stressful (if not a bit more) and job security is also threatened now, but if I need to be job hunting any time soon I want to feel confident about it.
Anyway, ramble over. Bubbs your dinner looks lush. Not been to M&S since about February, so if I go in anytime soon will look out for those.
I've put two of the Nevills wm loaves in my home delivery basket for this weekend, so that's a bonus to know I can use those, and the reviews were encouraging that they don't have lots of sugar or nasty palm oil in them.
Today's plan:
B - bacon roll HEB, ketchup (1)
snack - Special K bar (6) this was at the bottom of my bag and I was in the car, so it was the best I could do at the time
L - mixed salad: lettuce, cucumber, tomato & lean ham. LF caesar dressing (1); melon chunks
snack - banana
D - chicken thighs with lettuce, tomato, cucumber & hm sw chips, dresing (1)
I've been struggling with fatigue today, and could easily have face-planted into some hobnobs after work with a cuppa, but I didn't, and that's another day winning - yay!One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home2 -
Sorry to hear that you've had Covid Sary and that you are still bothered by the fatigue. Hopefully things will gradually improve. Not nice to know that your job isn't secure and you're so right about needing to be feeling confident if you have to go job hunting but hopefully it won't come to that.
Your menu plan yesterday looked good and only 10 syns. Although I have to say I was surprised by your breakfast - a ketchup roll!!!! No need to worry about the Special K bar as it was well within your syns. Do you menu plan or make it up as you go along? The reason I ask is that sometimes you can end up having stuff you hadn't planned (like the Special K bar) just because you didn't know what you were going to be having. I know that happens to me when I haven't decided what I'm going to be using my syns on and end up having a rum & diet ginger beer or a G&T in the evening.
Today's plan (and it's another Green day!)
B - cheese omelette
L - beans on toast; followed by some fruit & quark
D - soya bean spaghetti; HM tomato sauce, courgettes; more fruit & quark
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
If I want a 2nd HEB I've got some Alpen lights/hifi bars in the cupboard
Syns - lolly 4; couple of Lotus biscuits with cuppa 4
If I have my syns then I will be at 104 for the week so have pulled it back from the brink! Really didn't think I'd manage to this week.
PS edited to change evening meal as have several courgettes to use up!

That looks amazing bubbs, will have to try and track them down in M&S tomorrow when I have to drop DH in town to pick up a new laptop from work.
I know how you feel Sary - had Covid in the middle of March and it's still throwing me off even now. Just have to take it easy where you can and give yourself time to recover.
After taking a week off, I got back on the working out train last night. Took it easier with a leg focused weight session but realised that I definitely need heavier weights now as they don't seem to be as effective as they once were. Good job I've got a savings pot started to get some adjustable dumbells (which will be cheaper than a gym membership and more sanitary!)
B - Kvarg vanilla quark (0.5 syns), apple
L - BBQ Turkey sandwich (1 syn for spread & HEB), LO salsa from yesterday (tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, red onion, lime juice)
D - HM Pollo Pesto (7 syns & 2 HEA), salad
I love the pollo pesto from Pizza Express and during lock down they've posted the recipe for it so I'm going to give it a go. I could have made it even lower syns but DH had already bought some pesto in the cupboard which unfortunately isn't a reduced fat one. I am subbing out the milk in the bechamel sauce for skimmed and using only a HEA amount of cheese so it will be syns for the little bit of flour and "butter" to make the roux plus the little bit of pesto. If it ends up being more syns because I add more cheese to it then it doesn't really matter because I've used hardly any over the last two days and I plan on having a relatively low syn week overall.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20171 -

It's strange how we have different approaches to SW. It's sharing them on here that is so helpful. I plan a week ahead and start from the intention of having all syn free or very low syn meals every day. The most I'd normally write into my plan would be something like cornflour or sausages at 1 syn each. That then leaves me loads of syns for treats. (i.e. booze😉) which I plan to have at weekends. I stuck to this religiously when I was getting to target except for holidays. It did mean some boring meals out but I managed it. The hardest thing was when eating at friends' homes. I'm lucky in that there's only the two of us at home now so I just don't buy synful snacks to tempt me. I buy DH things I don't like. Slip ups only really come when e.g. DH came shopping and we buy crisps!! He'll be banned.
I'm a bit more relaxed about it now I'm at target as I often go over syns to eat (and drink) out midweek but that's not happened during lockdown of course. ☹
Back soon with menu.1
