Ah, so if you're awarded enhanced daily living as well as enhanced mobility again, then it will definitely have been worth it for you. Whenever you report a change in your health they have to assess you again to make sure you get the appropriate award.

(Sorry poppy if you already said that, I can't remember between reading your post on the previous page and writing this - just !!!!!!, short-term memory gone.)

you,ve just calmed me down poppy as ever since i got this letter this morning ive been climbing the roof. my legs and knees are shot and over the past 8 years my depression and anxiety have got worse and anything like this just pushes me over the edge. i like being honest with these things hence me sending them my consultants report as didnt want them getting in touch down the line moaning they hadnt been told. i just find is so strange that jsut after 10 wks of being told no end date i get a reassessment but now i know that was my own fault. bit like 2 years ago i was on esa and 4 wks before i retired i was asked to go be assessed by health worker which i found very odd but still had to attend.thanks agin poppy for all your help.

You don't have to report every single thing that changes. If people did this every single time then backlogs would be even bigger than they already are.
I claim PIP myself and have had my medication changed several times in 3 years but i haven't reported that change because it would just be ridiculous if everyone did that.
I agree that if you are awarded a higher rate then it will have been worth it but it's a huge risk. Although you didn't realise what you were doing and i hope for you that it pays off. Good luck.

hi poppy, i now know i should of left things alone but my conditions have got worse i.e as stated my spine and my mental health dont allow me to do what little things i used to be able to do. my meds have been changed many times over the past 10 years also including 3 times allready this year and now have to be given by my wife. ive learnt from about 15 years ago it pays to be honest and up front with the dwp or has a nasty suprise of biting you in the bum. i thought i was doing the right thing telling them my about the damage to my spine and mental health but only time will tell. i can only tell them the truth when they call and then the rest is up to them and the good old dwp. thank god we have good people like you to guide and help us for which i thank you so much.

Just had mine. The assessment service phoned me yesterday morning (when I *really* needed to be sleeping! Unfortunately the shock of 'I thought it was tomorrow!' completely woke me up and I dozed afterwards but couldn't get back to sleep) to say about today. The appointment letter arrived yesterday too.

Today the assessor phoned me half an hour after my appointment time to tell me she was running really behind, then my actual assessment began 1hr 20 mins late, and took about 1hr 20 mins. It seemed to go okay but I don't really have high hopes. I know roughly what I qualify for should I need to take it all the way to tribunal but eh, we'll see *shrug*

I am just grateful I'm not relying on the money to keep a roof over my head. It will be extremely useful of course but without the immediate pressure of desperately needing it I don't feel I have to overly stress about it, thankfully.

Edit: I was able to be reclining in bed and use the phone on loudspeaker, so that was good. Still tiring but FAR less exhausting than having to go to an assessment in person

Received a text this afternoon to say DWP have the report. After 1hr6mins on hold it cut me off, and the hold music has completely worn me out. They say Monday and weekdays 4-5pm are busiest, so I can't face phoning again until Tuesday. I've seen people recommend following up a phone call in writing so can I just send a written request anyway? Where would I send it? Even if they don't get to reading it until Tuesday I'll be no worse off than not being able to phone until then.

I beleive it depends on which area you're living. You can try sending a letter to that address but don't expect too much because it's possible they may not send the report with a written request. Based on other posters in the past DWP are not that great in answering any letter requests.
You could also just wait for the decision letter.

Thanks, I guess I'll have to wait and phone on Tuesday then. I'm not waiting 8 weeks when I can find out the likely outcome much sooner.

Best time to ring any call center is just before it opens. That is when you stand the best chance of a short wait.
