Are you still selling/buying on Ebay?

Sales have gone through the roof, but I had 4 INRs yesterday and a “where is my item” message this morning. One buyer said it can’t be a problem with the post as she has received everything else she ordered. Royal Mail need to put out a statement to say that most of the post is getting through, but there may be occasional problems.
ebay are removing late delivery defects, but assume INR cases will count against you ?
Well everything I've bought has arrived on or before the estimated time, except 1 item which took 5 weeks, so I was going to open a case at the latest possible time and fortunately for the seller I didn't need to. Strangely it was from NI so maybe something to do with cutting of flights, however I sold multiple items to NI and they all arrived in 1-2 days even with 2nd class.
Less than 50% of my buyers leave feedback so it makes me nervous, but no INRs for me yet.0 -
Still buying & selling.
my sales seem to come in a cluster so send them usually within a day or two & have had feedback thanking me for my quick delivery.
i did have a 'did not receive' message yesterday but once I'd given the tracking info (bl00dy typical that that was the one I hadn't updated, I've not heard anything from the customer.0 -
I’m wanting to sell some things, but In bulk load, I have around 2-3 suitcases full of clothes (men’s) that I need rid of as clogging up my loft. I do have a lot of new stuff as well like designer jeans and tops which I never got to even take the tags of, some are different sizes. What will be the best way of selling this stuff as I have far too much to sell separate, how would I lost this for people to take an interest as I done one on eBay and didn’t get any interest so pulled it off. Any help would be most appreciated as I’m not a seller just need rid of unwanted items mainly clothes. And most of which are in very good condition.0

Second hand clothes are rarely worth the postage costs in bulk unless they are better than just ‘high street’ labels. You say you tried ebay, but did you theme your bundles as that can help, for instance 12 size 14 ladies tops, low start price and with a quoted courier postage cost, or 6 pairs of jeans size ‘xx’ etc. You will need good photos and accurate descriptions even for a bundle to avoid SNAD .phillistoffee said:I’m wanting to sell some things, but In bulk load, I have around 2-3 suitcases full of clothes (men’s) that I need rid of as clogging up my loft. If posting make sure you have your courier costs worked out in advance, sort your bundles into weights that fit within courier weight bands. It is easy to underestimate how much bundles of clothes weigh, or how much their volume measures once packed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Good advice thanks, maybe I should just do it all on Facebook market place as eBay was a hassle as I’m not experienced in the selling market, I just didn’t want to do anything at the moment with what’s going on but now it’s easing very slightly and couriers working I could go down that road, or a collection could work if left outside and they pay into my PayPal. I’ll try my luck, need to sort the clothes out into bundles like you said, not sure if to do in size bundles, or item bundles like jeans or shirts. Thanks for your helpsoolin said:

always ask for cash or a bank transfer at collection.
Door selling in many areas (including mine) has been very good these past few weeks, I have taken a huge amount of money whilst at the same time clearing out cupboards and forgotten items in the shed. For cheap items I just leave it outside when buyer is due to collect and they put money through the door, for dearer items I wait for them to knock, put money on my ledge outside, I then put the item on the floor and they pick it up and take it away. I suspect though that the collection market especially for clothes will stop once the shops are back open as people will want to go and cheer themselves up by buying new- so I would sell now if possible.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I bought some earphones over a week ago and they have still not arrived. The final date for them to arrive before I can open a case is tomorrow. The seller sent them 1st class.
Funnily enough, I sold something on Monday, posted it 1st class signed for as a parcel yesterday and it was there this morning. I got glowing feedback and thanked with a personal message for the freebies I sent. I'm just trying to get rid of bits and bats and some of the stuff I can't be bothered listing, I just give away as free gifts.
Having said that, we've not even had any letters through the post or over a week now. Hmmm.0 -
In that case I'd start by asking the seller for the reference number, partly to see if the RM page says anything (e.g. if it says delivered but you haven't had it) and partly to check if the seller has proof of postage (wouldn't be a good sign if they haven't). Post varies all over the country at the moment so the fact your one sent item was received so quickly doesn't actually mean anything just now.mimi1234 said:I bought some earphones over a week ago and they have still not arrived. Personally I wouldn’t be doing anything yet , the eBay estimate for delivery hasn’t even been reached ! OP has also said they are having trouble with their post, so why spend time chasing something that isn’t even over due.Spoonie_Turtle said:

Having said that, we've not even had any letters through the post or over a week now. Hmmm.I think it bad manners to ask a seller if they have proof of posting, the only reason to ask this is to try and show them up as a liar , it is also immaterial. If item doesn’t arrive in a day or two after eBay estimate then just let seller know and if it hasn’t arrived later or seller is dismissive open a case.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I sell bits on Ebay, but I've given it a rest for now.
One of the reasons is that Mr Dontone has a friend who works for RM, and they have said that the sorting offices are struggling a bit atm to get things out in a timely manner. Apparently it's a lot busier than the Christmas period, and some staff have had to self isolate, etc, and it's holding things up.
Also, the post offices round here are rather small, and although they have done the 2m rule and one customer in the shop at a time, i don't fancy standing in a queue with some of the more unsavoury characters that reside round here. It's bad enough having to wait to get into the supermarkets.
So, I'm hanging on for now. My items will stay with me until I feel a bit more confident that things have settled down.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.
