No. PIP is about how your health conditions affect your ability to carry out the specified activities. I can’t see that being extremely vulnerable in respect of coronavirus has any bearing.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1

You also need to have had a condition for at least 3 months and expect them to last at least 9 months... https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/

Hi thanks for your replies I already have an existing pip claim and have asthma, ,COPD, diabetes and hypertension and I wondered if the letter could be used as evidence because It's my understanding to get that letter you have to have been identified has having severe lung disease or one of several illnesses. So if nothing else it's proof I have severe lung disease. I understand pip is how your diagnosis effects you not diagnosis but was just curious what people thought.0

WhEn did you claim?0

My original claim was 2017 won my appeal 2018 due for renewal may 31st 2020. My pip form is sat with assessment service as I type.0

I suggest you apologise calcotti bit sharp in your response. I don't see why it's not worth using as evidence as the government obviously thinks your condition is at least the same as it was in 2017.

Thanks for your reply Gig1968 I have sent it in anyway can't hurt.0

Presumably the medical evidence you have already sent confirms your diagnoses. Agree it can’t hurt (but I still don’t think it will help).ggtazzy said:Thanks for your reply Gig1968 I have sent it in anyway can't hurt.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. I don’t see it was harsh. OP asked for an opinion and I gave one. As I explained PIP is about impact of illness, not the illness itself. The letter in question is a generic letter which says nothing about the specific illness the recipient has.Gig1968 said:I suggest you apologise calcotti bit sharp in your response. I have to agree with calcotti here, personally i don't see how it can help a claim.I don't see anything harsh in calcotti's advice.1
