You wont be using any of the forms or the online system to file the defence - as pointed out above, there is aguide, you will be emailing the defence (just insert a photo of your signature, no need to print and scan) and there is a prewritten defence where you only need to change 2 main para .5

We know what options a standard claim form has so there's no need to list them as if it's new and needs discussion. You will be defending in full! You just need to read the NEWBIES thread again and the template defence sticky thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?2

Fab thank you all for the reassurance I will go and re-read the Newbies thread again once the baby is in bed tonight. It's hard work remembering all the things to do/not to do but I really appreciate the step by step guides.
Thank you for the reassurance that the registration of judgements was a threat. I'm sure I read on here that it was all a load of rubbish so its good that I've retained some information despite a lack of sleep.
For those asking - The issue date is 8th June 2020.

ParkingNightmares said:The issue date is 8th June 2020.With a Claim Issue Date of 8th June, you have until Monday 29th June to file an Acknowledgment of Service. If possible, do not file an AoS before Saturday 13th June, but otherwise there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an AoS, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an AoS, you have until 4pm on Monday 13th July 2020 to file your Defence. That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create and file a Defence, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.5

Thanks KeithP that's super helpful. It's good to know we have some time left before having to sort everything out and it gives me some time to sit properly and compile the defence over the weekend when hopefully life is a little less stressful and full on. I've had a nosey at the Newbies thread and it seems quite self explanatory, you lot are so helpful in setting out the advice in laymen's terms.
One last question for tonight. The claim form has the address of a Northampton court on it, does this mean this the court that will need to be attended to defend?

After you have filed your Defence, you get to choose your local court and the claim is transferred there.
All explained in the second post of the NEWBIES thread.3 -

The CCBC in Northampton is just a government office , like the DVLA in Swansea , they don't make vehicles in the DVLA , it's just an administrative centre , as is the CCBC. The government had to locate it somewhere , which happens to be in Northampton , but could just as easily have been Belfast or Blackpool where some DWP centres are , or Nottingham or Northampton , or Carlisle or Crewe
The location of the CCBC is irrelevant , because after the DQ stage everything is transferred to the court you nominated in your DQ , or the nearest one that is open (think covid19 restrictions) and the CCBC has no further involvement in the case
90% of your defence has been written by coupon mad and is currently the second thread from the top of the forum , with only 2 paragraphs to adapt3 -
You do realise that there is a Defence template (applicable to any PPC adding a spurious 'extra' to the original parking charge) available in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, second post? It provides around 90% of what you need for your defence, it requires you to just fill in a couple of paragraphs outlining the specifics of your own case. Absolutely no need to start with a blank sheet of paper and a metaphorical scratching of the head.ParkingNightmares said:It's good to know we have some time left before having to sort everything out and it gives me some time to sit properly and compile the defencePlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
