Happy Holidays XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXNevertheless she persisted.1 -
I absolutely love your yearly summer holiday to do list! Mine is never as extensive and I usually fail to complete it all😁
Happy summer holidays, I love them!😍I really need to sort out a new signature!1 -
Yesterday was a busy one - took ds to visit his Grandad (ex's Dad), he is very ill and it was his chance to say goodbye. That involved a 2 hour drive each way, all fine except the warning light came on in the car on the way back so I need to get my mechanic friend to plug in his machine and see what's wrong with it.
After that I went to a bbq at a friends house, very nice time and I was sensible with the food - some chicken, lots of salad and and a few nice buffet bits and pieces, but overall pretty sensible and no alcohol. After that I went round to see a friend and spent the night thereVery nice and got home this morning around 10. I've had a shower and done some food shopping, need to go now for a nice long walk and then hit the gym, just waiting for my phone to charge.

A good day today - I got up early, walked to the gym, did my workout, then walked back - gym workout and 18,000 steps completed by 9.30
After that I had a stupidly lazy day but never mind. Tonight I went out for a meal with some friends from work, it was lovely
Tomorrow is ds birthday - he's got the day off, he's a bit subdued tonight as his Grandad died last nightMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

A very productive day today - I went to the gym at 6:30, came back and had a shower, stripped my bed and washed it all. Ds got up and decided he wanted to sort his room today - this is something I've been asking for around two years
I didn't waste a minute and very quickly we had emptied all his clothes out and sorted then binned or put back, then moved on to his shelves / cupboard. Schoolbooks and all sorts were binned - 8 bags of stuff went to be recycled or to the tip. It felt so therapeutic and was a great job done, a job that wasn't even on my list as I didn't think he'd ever agree, but I'm so glad its done.
I've done 5 loads of washing in total today (my bedding, his bedding, towels and 2 loads of clothes). It's all dry and the beds need remaking. We've been to Mums and done a few bits for her then I've had a couple of hours enjoying the sun in the garden.
Tonight the football season restarts, finally!, and there is also the last episode of Neighbours. My perfect kinda Friday nightMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Sorry to hear about DS's grandad.
I remember the joy of tidying (properly tidying) my children's bedrooms. It often involved finding lots of manky teaspoons 😵💫.
I'm recording Neighbours - end of an era. Mind you I haven't watched it for about 30 years!1 -
I haven't seen Neighbours since Jason & Kylie were in it but I've recorded it too.As for teaspoons - well I remember my MIL telling me about counting aircraft taking off & then counting them landing again, but she never said anything about having to count spoons leaving the kitchen. I know very quickly if crockery goes missing but cutlery is a whole different kettle of fish.1

Today has been a nice day - I took ds to get the coach to see his Dad as the train strike meant he couldn't get there. I've done some housework and then been to a pre-season friendly with my brother this afternoon. I am very aware that I haven't really done anything off my list yet, although it does feel like I've done quite a few jobs, maybe they just weren't on the list
I returned some shorts to Next today, so that's some money on its way back to my account. Tomorrow I'm going to the gym, maybe a swim and sauna as well while I'm there, then I need to get a few food bits. Other than that I might get something ticked off the list.Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Tonight I've been going through the end of month banking stuff, I need to find a way to streamline it, I've got way too many different accounts / isa's etc with little dribs and drabs in, I need to spend some time closing some and transferring it into less accounts, especially as the football season is kicking off again so there are the betting accounts to keep a check on too.
Anyway, I had overspent a bit this month, (extra petrol, a few takeaways etc), I have adjusted things and everything is back to where it should be ready for the new month on Monday. August can be difficult as I'm not at work at all so there is the potential for it to go a bit haywire but I need to try to keep a close eye on it. I also need to start adding to the gas/electric account as that hasn't happened much recently. I'm loving the hot weather and being able to have the windows open, no heating on, but it won't be long before the cold returns. I have stocked up on warm socks and thick tights for the winter, and found a bargain double duvet for ds in Sainsburys this week reduced to £2.75! He only has a single bed but it will keep him toasty warmMortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
