Sun_Addict - contact Fitbit and let them know, their customer service is fabulous, that happened to me with my first fitbit many moons ago and they sent me a replacement :)
I find a walking challenge keeps me motivated  - you get a map to track your progress, this years route is from London to Aberdeen - you leave London, go through Kent, all along the south coast to Cornwall then up, along the Welsh coast, the Scottish highlands then over to Aberdeen. Last time I did it (2021) it was west coast of the USA to the east coast. I use Race the Distance for my challenges but there are loads of others too.

Good going so far, I have checked all my accounts, closed an old Isa that had £2.26 in it :), closed another account and transferred that into a new Isa. I wanted to close another savings account but there is a £50 fee if I do as I haven't had it for 5 years yet. If I wait until March there won't be a fee so that has been scheduled on my calendar already.

Morning, last night I went to a friends and we had a takeaway, it was lovely after days and days of snacky food.
Today I have been and had my nails done, the glitter has gone and has been replaced by a dark grey, I love it :)

The rest of today will be spent decluttering, cleaning, getting my head ready for the new year. I did take another 3 bin bags of stuff to the tip today - a very old tatty duvet that the dog used to use as a bad, and 2 bags of tatty clothes that don't fit and have been stored away for a year and haven't been touched in that time. None of it was worthy of charity shops even, so it's all gone. I love that feeling of clearing stuff out, it's so freeing.

I went to Tesco after I had my nails done and got some milk and eggs. I also treated myself to a new water bottle as mine disintegrated in the dishwasher, and a new shiny notebook ready for my new year plans.

Dishwasher has been emptied, filters cleaned and now running a cleaning cycle. Gas meter reading has been submitted (my smart meter isn't working again ...). Upstairs is all hoovered, one load of washing done, shoe cupboard has been gutted.

That's brilliant news about your Fitbit Sun_Addict, I thought they might do :)

My smart meter has never worked properly, I threw away the actual indoor bit one day - wasn't sure what it was, had been sat in a drawer for ages so it got binned, now they won't replace it as it was a different company when I signed up to it and now the actual readings don't go through for the gas (electric works fine), so I still have to do a meter reading anyway :(

    Hi Benben,
before I move over to your new diary, I thought I would just comment here. We moved to our house 18 months ago and although we have a smart meter, we didn’t have an in house display.

We’ve just forked our £50 for one but like you, there is a problem with the gas.
Sh*ll wouldn’t help us in any way - we have Smets1 metre not Smets2 unless we actually had a problem with the smart meter itself.

Long story short, we now have an engineer coming out (but not until end of Feb) to confirm that the meter is faulty so hopefully we will get a Smets2 meter and a better in house display.

Don’t know whether this will help anyone but it might be why there is a problem with them reading your gas usage.

Hope you have a lovely new year.
