Morning allColder today, and I have put the heating on for the first time for several days. Walked dog first thing (about 6am) but have since received another text informing me that I should not be leaving my property, so I guess as I appear to be under house arrest, that OH will have to do itAnyway, unfortunately the text did not proscribe cleaning, so I guess I had better do some more of that todayOther things:Finished up the rhubarb and raspberry compote that I made last week for breakfast fruitWatered seedlings and fed feathery friends
(though the jackdaws that seem to be eating the apple blossom are NOT my friends!)
Tie up hair as it is getting long and annoying, and no chance of a haircut. It is much less annoying in a pony tail I have discovered!Update book where I keep note of bank accounts etc. I tend to move them about a bit, and OH can't keep upDinner will be chilli, made from the remains of the mince base I made for shepherds pie yesterday - so not much cooking needed todayBack later to update. Stay safe everyone.6 -
Morning all
Hope you're doing well given the circumstances. CLF I'm chuffed to bits to see that you've managed to pick up some work straight away. Brilliant news.
Groundhog day here as well - I'm not on my work rota until Tuesday next week so trying to fill the days without spending money or letting my or my kids mental health dip too low (that is the challenge at the moment). I start every day feeling a bit rubbish and then seem to pull myself round as the day goes on.
Today's tasks:
Minimal housework
Plan something nice for dinner
Maybe paint the bathroom
Go for a walk
2 hours of school related work for me and the kids
Get in the garden if the weather is nice.
Take care all of you - hope that you're staying safe.
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi 1LL and all who follow. Also a big hello to those that are just reading and not posting 😃
my list for today:
check banking, update sheet
something out of freezer for tea
research recipes for 2 slightly more unusual items that came in my veg box yesterday
triage fridge
vacuum
peg out washing done overnight and put another load on quick wash
make a cake. Yesterday I made choux pastry for the first time. Good as it only made a small amount. Needs practice but everyone said it was yummy.Knit, want to turn the heel today
print off some clues for an Easter egg hunt for Smalls on Sunday.Another thing off the lockdown to do list
water seedlings. All but the tomato ones look good. May have to have a rethink on the tomato ones.Talk to DH about how much more we can do out the front with what we have during lockdown
have a good day all. Purps.5 -
Morning. Overcast today, typical as am off work.
-check banks. (Done, annoying that they have taken payments burn not applied it to balanced making everything look temporarily worse plus I guess making money while they have it but haven't paid it against my balance).
-plan to use fresh veg bought by OH on impulse
-use up leftovers at lunchtime
-try to think of stuff to do despite massive stress levels
-email teachers re school work not done (because we have done a load of learning just not the stuff they set) (done)
Mostly try to calm down. Feel v stressed today and am handling DD various minor crises badly. We planned to do scrapbooking later, plus spend time in the garden but it's just cold out. Might try to plant some seeds later. Ugh. Just want to sleep, wake up and find it's all been fixed.

Afternoon allOur heating is off too 1LL
Lovely day again here today.
I used to make choux pastry too when the children were at home Purps, lovely chocolate eclairs - our waistlines certainly don't need me to make them now thoughTryingAgain, hope you are ok, you sound very downSo far today I have:Had a long chat on the phone with my cousin, which was niceMade celery soup - the supermarket delivery substituted cut celery sticks for a bunch of celery, and they don't keep, they were already looking a bit ropy. Anyway, used now, will blend soup in a minute and freeze. Also made a light fruit cake, light as in pale coloured, not dark and rich like Christmas cake. A bit lighter still, as I reduced the sugar content by almost a third, which in my opinion is a great improvement - and OH, who has a much sweeter tooth than me, didn't notice as usual. I always reduce the amount of sugar in cake recipes. Healthier, and it makes the sugar go further.DS did a little bit of shopping for us, and his subs were even odder than Asda's, nappy sacks instead of dog poo bags and paninis instead of a loafMust message him and transfer the money across.
Trying to motivate myself to do some cleaning - the kitchen walls (plus ceiling, paintwork etc) want washing down. I suspect it will be one of those jobs that gets done in 15 minute bursts over a few days! The chilli I made last night from the remains of a shepherds pie base I made the night before turned out to be enough for 2 dinners for OH and I, so we will have that again tonight, with a jacket potato and HM coleslaw this time.Must water the seedlingsMight change the duvet (put the summer weight one on instead of the winter one) which is bound to bring about a change in the weather for the worse4 -
Hi everyone
Gosh, I am so fed up and frustrated, as many of you know mum is 85, yesterday her warden/morning contact has told her she is quite capable of going down to the local shop as "she's sensible" despite the fact she has a letter and texts telling her to stay in doors - does no-one understand the seriousness of this situation.
Today:
Stay Positive and count my blessings -
Check Bank & made PAD - Done

@ziggy2407 That is crazy!!! No wonder you're feeling fed up!
@TryingAgain2022 Big virtual hugs
@DawnW Dh has taken to wearing shorts in there the last couple of days so no heating has been on at all
@PurpleFairy26 I've never made choux! I don't think my waistline could cope with more baking
