This week’s moneysaving.
- -did some online shopping yesterday (had been browsing since payday on 26th!) and finally spent the money. Some clothes for DD, pair of trousers for me to replace these ones which are now a disgrace with rips in unmentionable places, and - houseplants.
Strictly these are non-essential, but I’ve been putting it off for so long and it felt almost normal to be shopping. For a couple of hours I forgot about you-know-what, and that was nice.
The plants are because I was upset about plants being thrown away cos garden centres are closed.
I’m conflicted because A, money, and B, trying not to make non essential workers be in work. But if I’m going to be working from home til September I want some oxygen in my house!
Anyway. The justification is that I won’t put £120 quid’s worth of fuel in the car this month or spend £30 on parking. (In theory I could spend even more!. But I won’t.) AND this was not on the credit card, so I have kept my 2020 no-card streak! Might not seem much but last year that would be unthinkable.
I have also spent money on a Disney+ subscription and a Google Music Subscription (free until May 5th for Google.) this is so I can listen to anything any time in the house, and for some new content on the telly for DD. I will review these subs every month and cancel if
Small things:
- -using up things from the fridge is my mission today. Annoyed to find next big milk opened when existing big milk already open! Argh!
- -drying washing on line
- -move money for annual expenses to separate account
- -send birthday money for friend’s DD via e-voucher thing
- -plan to use some of my many tins of soup for lunches. This will involve learning to make soda/ Greek yogurt bread too :-) If you haven’t tried Jamie O’s 2 ingredient pan-fried bread recipe you need to! So fast!
That’s it, sorry for rambling. I am off work from Weds to following Friday so will be a bit more organised. Hope the weather lasts so I can actually sit in my garden instead of just looking at it from my desk.
Stay safe everyone.

Wow just looked at my list from earlier 🙈 tomorrow may look like ground hog day! In my defence I spent a few hours working and another hour or so on a call to someone. Will see if I can achieve much between now and bedtime!6

Evening allWow CLF, way to go! Good luck with it all. You will be great!I was seriously lazy yesterday, so was determined to get some stuff done today! Up early as usual and walked dog first thing, before anyone else much is about. I am supposed to 'stay at home for 12 weeks' I was informed by text today, presumably due to a health condition, but I can't see any problem with a short walk before most of the world is awake. I am very careful not to touch anything, washing my hands etc I hasten to add! And anyway, I hadn't received the text thenSpent most of the rest of the day cleaning, started with murky corners in the living room and then tackled the dining room. Looking much betterPut a load of washing on the line, which I will need to get in shortly (looks like rain)Claimed a £5 Amaz*n voucher from a survey siteCooked mince, bulked out with veg and lentils (OH didn't notice the lentils), used half for shepherds pie and the rest will do for chilli tomorrow, with a few additions.Watered seedlings in greenhouseStill need to sort out veg from Sunday's shopping delivery which is still in the meat safe where I dumped it when it arrived. Done, all in fridge now, that needs to be in there.6
