What small DFW things will you do this w/c 06/04/20?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😁

* Update shopping list after checking fridge/freezer... I had said to the family I would plan to shop just on Tuesdays but I'm going to see if I can stretch it another day by getting creative!done
* See if there is enough washing to do a load on the quick washdone
and hang out to dry
done
* Kids are on Easter holidays now but I need them to do a bit of their homework each day as it will help fill the timedone
* Make that date cake as I've still not got round to it

Morning allThanks for starting us off 1LL. We had rain overnight too, but it looks as though it will be nice todayUp early as usual to walk the dog, fetched in the things the milkman had left, and had breakfast. Today I will:Sort out shopping delivery that arrived yesterday evening and was just put away anyhow as it was quite late Done most, still some veg that I had shoved in the meat safe to sort outPay milk bill, I normally pay monthly via Sagepay on their web site, but the business are having big cash flow and other issues at the moment due to lost business and school custom etc, and have requested weekly payment by BACS. Done, also checked banksUpdated spreadsheetMake scones that I didn't get to yesterday Done, stilton and walnut ones, to use up some freezer bitsAlso made leek and potato soup, now in fridgeStart thorough clean downstairs - I did the dreaded dresser last night while waiting for the shopping, and it looks lovely. Will do some more today. Did one grotty corner and some general tidying up. Should have done more, motivation lacking! Still, if I clean one messy corner each day during this lockdown, progress will be made!Meal plan - I had lots of salad stuff and fruit arrive with the shopping last night, which was great, as I had virtually none left. Done, had a nice big salad tonight with jacket potatoes, HM coleslaw and tuna. Tomorrow will make shepherds pie.Hope everyone has as good a day as possible under the circumstances.5

Morning folks
Sorry I've been m-i-a. i haven't caught up with last week's thread or this week's yet so I hope you're all ok.
Things have been a bit of a rollercoaster here! I was made redundant on Friday and the company I worked for was placed into administration as I was expecting. I kinda felt ok for it though over the weekend and I was glad that it wasn't looming over me any more. I did my CV, polished up a covering letter and set my daily routine for the week ahead.
Yesterday I sat down, sent my CV to a local company and a specualtive one to a company in another part of the country that I have a longstanding working relationship with. Then everything went mad! Some old colleagues who have their own business called me and I may pick up some work there. Then one of my old bosses rang and they might have a role for me post-coronavirus, then the company that I sent the specualtive CV rang and asked if I wanted some freelance work, starting this morning! Of course I said yes, but it was all so much to process that I hardly slept a wink last night! As a freelancer, I can command an entirely terrfiying day rate (over double my old salary!!). I have been onto HMRC's website to set myself up as a sole trader immediately!
So I'm sitting here, waiting for them to get in touch with data and a software licence!
Today's mse things:B/L/D from stores
Get some exercise at lunchtime
OH to do housework
Heating off
Pinch OH's excel template invoice form
Set up a spreadsheet for earnings and expenses
Have a good one all

Morning, everybody its an other sunny morning in Southern England. Time for a new and better me ... so woke up, did a short core yoga, am attending staff meeting right now (smirk). So grateful for team meetings w camera and mic turned off.
Will work half a day today and Thursday. And then a week off.
CLF what a fantastic response.
I'm OK with the bank for now, but will slightly break the bank as have to get a new duvet cover, as the old one is sadly splitting, and it's not time to pick up something nice now. Gosh I miss my sewing machine.
Well time to go on a food hunt, then home to do some work, and something outside.
Uni-son is starting a new hhs job today as a carer, as he might do a post grad in nursing. While daunting he is not enjoying sitting around my house 24/7.
