Tax credit coronavirus payments

Anyone received a higher amount than that stipulated on your award notice "future payments"?

My pending payment for tomorrow is the same as the award notice, not any increase for coronavirus as promised from 6th April?
Anyone know when it's due to start?

The increased payments are from 6th April. Tax Credits are normally paid in arrears, so the payment you are due to receive tomorrow is for a period before the 6th April, hence still payable at the old rate. Subsequent payments should see the increase.

This is useful. Thank you. I hadn't thought about the 'in arrears' aspect of it.

Posted in another thread too but just to be clear, I checked online today & instant chat messaged on the gov.uk tax credits site asking about WTC.
They're not quite ready to pay this extra yet and I was told to check payments in a couple of weeks by which time they hoped it would be done. I was also informed that the actual amount would vary with only those getting maximum entitlement of the qualifying part of WTC getting the maximum.
(Don't shoot the messenger if that's not right but it is what I was told and I saved the entire chat.)

The increase is from 6th April as the advice clearly says so was due on payments made from today (6th) onwards, the start of a new tax year.

    A little clarification:

Elsewhere somebody suggested that Tax Credit payments were always made in arrears, the idea being that the payment for 6th April 2020 was a last payment for the years 2019/2020.
That might be how it works for some people, but it isn't for me - and I will explain why.

Each year (eventually) I receive an awards letter from HMRC detailing what I have been awarded and, on the last page usually, payments I will receive for the year. The heading is "Payment dates and amounts".
Directly following that is "Payments in 2020 - 2021" if we're looking at last years award regarding this now current year for example, and mine very clearly says "06/004/2020" followed by "Then every week until further notice"

I understand that some people might be paid monthly but I have been paid this way for years now and not once have I been asked if I would change that.

It takes time to change the payment systems   on the computer so won't be updated for a few weeks When it is the extra amount will be calculated back to6 April and paid with the next available payment.
