    How strange, our Al too is due to shut at some point over the next week for a refurb too… maybe they are rebranding hence why there are a few closing at the same time? Ours sometimes smells of mouldy fruit when you walk in, and it does leave me wondering how they clean under the fruit areas when they, I believe, don’t work outside of store opening hours…

    Yesterday was all from stores; boiled egg on toast, homemade soup for lunch and frozen pizzas instead of takeaway :)

    Today will yet again be from stores for breakfast and lunch; cereal and homemade soup, but we are unsure of plans for dinner yet. We may go out (all from budget) or we may have something we already have in, not sure yet.

    Have a great day all x

    Ooh that does sound like an Aldi rebrand doesn’t it - I wonder what they will do with the store near work which only opened in October but (so far as I can think, anyway) has the regular branding if that is the case. Hmm..I’m starting to wonder whether in fact there is a difference there that I’d not noticed!

    Made a mistake - stupid me - We were meant to have friends here at the weekend and I had a large piece of gammon in the freezer from December. Got it out last Wednesday, put it in the fridge to defrost, and then on Friday they cancelled. I've now had to cook the gammon - it's big, far too much for the two of us so I'll have to slice it and refreeze it - what a waste of time. I also spent a full day on the house over and above what I normally do, - being tidy with everything in it's place is not my strongest point, I'd rather be outside.  Rant over.

    Lunch;- turkey soup from the freezer made at the end of last year. It just needs a bit of stretching with a few more vegetables, frozen peas and sweetcorn will be easy to bulk it out.
    Tea:- I'll wait until I've dealt with the cooked gammon and then use any bits to make a mushroom and gammon quiche as I've got everything else.  Pudding- I came across some black cherry granita I'd made before Xmas and used it over ice-cream the other day. It was quite delicious, maybe it was the added brandy.. There's some left!!!

    @Suffolk_lass, I hope you are ok? That sounds scary! As for the chicken... £18?? Wow, that is very expensive but I don't think the old me would have been able to say no once I'd ordered it (different story now). Sounds like you got a few meals from it though, and I'm sure DH won't buy from there again..?

    Today is all from food I have in / already prepped;

    *boiled egg on toast
    * hm soup
    * leftover roast dinner that my friend kindly portioned up for us last night (she's a love). DH isn't a huge fan of roast dinners so will make him something from stores too

    @Suffolk_lass - no harm in being a drama queen when warranted!  As to that outrageously expensive chicken (insert blue shrieky smiley here) - what did they rear it on? Gold pellets?  I hope you rubberize it to death to stretch over as many meals as possible!

    I'm currently recovering from food poisoning, so though I have a meal plan for the week, not really wanting to focus on it for the moment, so may post it about mid-week!

    Ahh SL what a scary situation! Mr SL will know better next time, on 2 accounts.

    RT - I darent admit the amount of times I’ve had food poisoning over the last few years. It’s awful isn’t it. Sending you sips of water and plain toast.
