Absolutely no reason not to fry the gammon steaks IMO too. Go for it!

Last night chez EH saw the YS'd pack of chicken chipolatas cooked up - we had three each alongside jacket tatties and baked beans. Quick, easy, and the remaining four chipolatas will be cut into chunks tonight to add to a risotto. that will also use up the final leek, the last of a pack of frozen peas, and a tub of stock from the freezer (made from the turkey carcass). I do like  a meal where the main ingredient rolls forwards like that.

I need to do a freezer review to see what we might have for tomorrow night - although current gut feeling is it might be a "bitsa" type meal - I'll see what the freezer dive suggests I think.

Gammon went down very well! It was covered by an egg, served with mash and cauliflower so it was a very beige looking dinner 😂

Yesterday was a pk of minced venison from the freezer with carrots, leeks, a few spices and lentils  turned into a 'shepherd pie', tonight was the remainder of the cooked venison in shortcrust pastry with creamy mash, sugar peas and french beans. Basically it was the same meal on both nights just presented slightly differently. Fortunately, DH loves pies. There was enough mince for me to have a couple of stir fries as well as I don't eat potatoes.

Lunches on both days was already made and frozen HM soup, turkey soup yesterday and green pea and gammon soup today. (no guessing where the LO turkey and gammon came from)

I'm finding I'm using quite a bit of chilli/garlic/ginger at the moment to add a bite to things. I've decided it must be the 'grey' weather that is about at the moment.

I picked up 10 packs of smoked salmon in my local small shop last week, they were about to close and they would have been thrown away! all down from £4.50 to £1.20

they've gone in the freezer but need some inspiration please :)

Yes, I echo something on these lines.  A little smoked salmon goes a long way.
If you have to do packed lunches, smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches feel very luxurious!

I’d be scoffing my way through all the olio bagels in my freezer and slapping in between those with Phili! Can’t get me enough of that! 😛
