We had sad-salad last night, using up the last supplies from the salad drawer before we go away. Pink edged lettuce, tomatoes, usable cucumber, red onion in sweetened vinegar and coleslaw. Oh and red pepper. Just in time with the two avocados and topped up with a little cheese and pickle

Sad-sallad can sometimes be freshend upp if soaked in cold water (and stale bread can be slightly watered and microwaved- or  put in a frying pan/toaster if to far gone )

Thanks @Ms_Green (and welcome to our thread!). To be honest, putting that cucumber anywhere near water and part of the side would have slimed it. It was just about pre-white spots (don't tell DH!). The lettuce, still crisp was pink edged too.

We had a SM pizza between us last night, preceded by 3 small onion bhaji snacks each to go with the 0% alcohol G&T. We had been out for brunch so this was plenty and although Easter is tomorrow, Good Friday is part of the holiday weekend so it didn't feel too much of a cheat.

I must say 0% alcohol G&T doesn,t really cut it for me!

My husband once experimented making a gin & tonic jelly one day when overseas relatives came to stay .  I never saw how much gin went into it (too much I suspect,) but it was a perfect summer meal on the patio and the jelly regularly gets a "memorable" mention in our subsequent reminiscences of the occasion !   We now call it "under the table" jelly!

Pak choi and stew packs leftover from Olio collection.  Interesting meals this week!

@CCW007 - I would just prep the stew packs and then freeze ready to pull out of the freezer whenever you want to make a stew.  I do this with stew veg regularly, particularly in the winter.

@Primrose - I quite like the 0% gin; I don't think it tastes much different to the full alcohol one once the diet tonic is added to it and it's really good when you are following something like SW where you count syns (full fat is 3 syns for a single; 0% is 0.5 syns for a double!).  Same applies if you are calorie counting I would think.  Also helpful if you are trying to cut back on alcohol.

@joedenise it's a great suggestion but there is very little room in the freezer!  Will have a juggle and see what I can fit in.

I've got some veggie sausages that need using up so sausage casserole for dinner!

Another one here who likes the 0% gin, the Gordon's one is good and I'm no lover of Gordon's gin generally.

Yes, I prefer the 0% alcohol Gordons and have cut down on alcohol recently (not that we ever drank that much).

I made not-cross buns and a double batch of (school recipe) rock cakes yesterday, to drop off to my neighbour for him to take in to work (A&E) but he is away until Monday night. So it looks as though we will have to eat them.

A good job DS is coming for Sunday Lunch (piece of pork belly about to go in) as he can take some away

Turned a gammon joint into campfire stew making four portions.  Carrots will be made into soup, managed to rehome a few packs of the stew veg so not quite so much to use up.

Leftover bnut squash used up and made into squash patties yesterday, but with pizza for dinner last night (it’d been a long day?!) we’re out of sync now.

Oxtail from the freezer will need to be cooked tomorrow for Easter as there wasn’t enough time today but tomorrow will need to be a use it up kinda day I think.

There is leftover Thai curry but it really was awful tasteless paste and thus I have no desire to eat the leftovers at all. Plus we’re out of rice anyway. I don’t like to waste but equally hate eating bland awful food.
