The salmon might have freezer burn, you'll see white patches if it has, but it'll be fine.

Yes, wmf frozen smoked salmon will be fine. I often freeze reduced Christmas packs for Easter or my turn to do afternoon tea for my pals - finger sandwiches, homemade cakes, biscuits and scones. Not this year though!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Today's dinner used up the last of some basics frozen fish (pollock) & made another stab at using up the abundance of potatoes - they keep arriving weekly in every veg box
A lovely homemade creamy watercress & cream sauce poured over the fish & grilled, then served with a simple mash - Tasty & filling.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! We also have a lot of potatoes (because DH is doing the shopping - 5k last week - eek!) - I did an enormous one last night to have half each as a jacket potato with cheats malanzane parmigiana - roasted aubergine (egg plant) with part of a jar of Bolognese sauce layered and topped with grated extra mature cheddar and then baked. Today I have a chicken to roast. It is likely to be our last roast as the range will be switched off after dinner on Thursday until the end of September.
After that we will be using the domino hob (2 hot plates connected to a gas bottle), a small built in combi oven (fan, convection, microwave and grill, the gas barbecue (once it is cleaned) and my slow cooker. Our electricity bill drops down to a fifth of the winter then.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

We've still got some of Sunday's roast lamb left, mainly small bits so have decided I'll do a stir fry with bits and pieces from the fridge - green pepper, red pepper, spring onions, carrot, celery plus some noodles. Was going to make a couple of burgers with the bits but decided there really isn't enough for 2 burgers! That will be lunch tomorrow as I have a couple of boiled eggs in the fridge which I'd like to use up today so we'll have an egg & cheese salad today. I've got a bag of spiced mixed veg out the freezer for tonight so I'll cook some rice and we'll have biryani.

Lunch today was a bowl of noodles with more of the roast chicken meat & some pak choi from the veg box - another one of those use it up meals - and quite tasty too!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! We had three potatoes left, some bendy parsnips and three carrots so they've gone in to roast with the beef that was sliced in the freezer for a sort of roast dinner. the two wrinkly apples got turned into a apple tart.

We treated ourselves to a bread and butter pudding made from stale hot cross buns and rock hard, inedible, homemade muffins which my husband made 😀
