mothernerd said:greent can you use the old bras as facemasks?
That made me laugh out loud. You can just picture people walking around with little black lacy numbers, etc.
It's great to hear that you have good news, Ditty
Another NSD today and a productive one as well. Changed the bedding, did a washing, cleaned out a few drawers in our bedroom, cooked some meals for the boy to put in his freezer, finalised tomorrow's food deliver, etc.
Should finish my book tonight and I've found another one to start on. Had a few emails from my family and friends and a couple of phone calls as well.
So feeling quite positive today. Off to watch a Marple and then pizza from freezer for dinner.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
NSD 13/15
bit of a moody day putting it down to Monday.
Lovely to read all your comments today nice to read how positive you all are thank you!
Tonight I will look at budgets for April and start thinking about May.
DS did a bit of school work, coloured a picture for our window and we are about to go for a walk. Uk scouts all are doing a mile and when added together apparently they should reach the moon.
I feel a bit bombarded by activities sent by school, cubs, community etc I don’t think we have to do them but I think if people have gone to the trouble of organising we should make the effort!
we had lasagne for tea, haven’t had it for ages thoroughly enjoyed it and a couple of glasses of wine leftover from the weekend!
My jobs looking a bit uncertain, I do the accounts for a holiday company and it’s rumoured hotels won’t be running until January. We were aiming for September at the very latest.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2605 -
Monday- NSD 13, today has been more of the same.
I thought DD was back to "school" today, but it was an in-service day so not til tomorrow. Bad mummy made her do some school type work anyway, just to ease us back into the routine!
Gratitudes today- another day of sunshine, another day of over 10000 steps, getting the water pistols out for a water fight this afternoon, managing to put meals together despite being short of "fresh" food, starting another book.7 -
Bbk - my sister is/was in a lot of different groups and each one set up a whatsapp group and she was getting bombarded with messages. It is overwhelming! But she chose which ones to focus her energy on and which ones to ignore for a bit. When all your communication shifts to online, then you need to limit yourself. So, what I'm saying is: don't feel you have to do things just because someone else has put them out there.mothernerd - glad your polytunnel isn't one of those mahooosive ones. I wondered how big your mum;s garden was!Today I am grateful for drying the washing outside, for being back at 'work', for getting out for a gentle walk with dd to test my ankle out there in the world of uneven surfaces, for seeing the decorated trees and rocks that people have done, for dh being able to help other people with tech, for dd just getting on with her school work, for the apple blossom doing its thing.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Well what an action packed and exciting day I've had (I get excited about not very much). Whilst I was on the hunt for the passcode book (so I can find out how much money is in the bank, amongst other things) I attacked the area under the bed with a metre stick. Didn't find the book but amongst the bits of debris that came out was one of the clamps that should hold the two halves of the base together. I've got used to the mattress moving out of line with the base but the two base bits not being together is worse.Ended up by pushing the bed across to the wardrobes and every inch was tough. Hurt all yesterday because of it but was determined not to put it back until it was fixed.Early phone call from DS2 who wanted to know if we wanted any shopping. He didn't know if he would have time to go by my house (friend driving him) but I tried to message DS3 with a list of things to collect and put by the front door in case he could. Battery was dying. I spent an hour trying to get to messenger with the battery continually cutting out. Fired up the new laptop but it sent a verification code to my email so continued to coax the old laptop to work to access the verification for the new one. Had my breakfast, which had been out on a tray since 8am, between noon and 1 pm.DS3 was offline (probably gone to sleep after working through the night) but wrote a list (I will want them here so if they are ready to be collected all well and good. Had a lengthy online chat with DS1. Set out the visitor's chair for DS2. good chat with him. Then had second breakfast (finishing off a toast loaf). New laptop working but couldn't log in without my passcode book. Then moved all the moveable stuff (bedding including all the things that were in the 4 bed drawers, clothes, bags of assorted stuff (finally found the codebook under the radiator by the window) onto mum's bed and stacked the bed drawers at the end of her bed.Bedside drawers moved into the front room . Mum had suggested a possible move round to make more room. Hoovered all the fluff under the bed (apparently the men who fitted the windows were the last people to hoover it) then stood the mattress up in the clean space, followed by the bed base. Fixed both the clamps in place (properly with a hammer as they had only ever been part way on), then did a jiggle with the bed and wardrobes. Wardrobes had wheels on (and they were shorter than the door so rolled those into the front room, leaving more room for manouvering the bed and getting the drawers back in.Asked mum to make some decisions about which bedding she needed access to as two of the drawers are now flat against the wall (had to stop her giving me each sheet and blanket's life history).Moved all the heavy stuff back, made the bed (mum came to help but did most of it myself). Mum told me to get in bed and leave the rest (she's worried that I will be sore all over tomorrow) but everything is out of her room and I've had a shower and washed my hair (took the dress I had been wearing and both towels through to mum as she had a couple of things to go in the washer).Today I am grateful for good simple food, for contact with two of my sons (must check in with DS3, he should be awake now), for getting the new laptop working and successful coaxing of the old one, for finding the passcode book for being tired (not sleepy) but happy, for a firm cushion to support my back.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7
