  • I waited patiently for my voucher (originally booked online) as I'm quite happy to go back to the same place. Been there many times previously.
Decided to book online using voucher only to be told it was invalid... checked, checked and checked again definitely entered correctly.
Tried again, same thing, and again and again. Phone goes straight to 'sorry we can't take your call right now'. Not best pleased.
I'm far from alone as a quick google search informed me. If I can't book without wasting too much of my time at least I paid using a credit card and will go that route.

    UPDATE:
I rebooked my holiday 2 days ago and paid a small deposit to secure the booking even though my credit refund was still invalid.
Today after 45 minutes on hold spoke to a very pleasant lady who applied the credit refund and as I am typing this a conformation email arrived. Now much happier. I'm guessing each day it will be easier to get through and get help as they work their way through this. Good luck everyone.

Hi everyone, just a ray of sunshine to give people some hope. We received a full refund in pretty quick time, less than 2 weeks from requesting.

8 May - due to leave on holiday
21 May - requested full refund online
5 June - full refund paid into bank account

Been ringing again all week, the phone line is either busy or says it is closed.  Its over 12 weeks now since I cancelled and was told refund in 3-5 days.

I did however receive an email from Tui saying a refund has been paid but guess what, NO money :(

When did you get the email?
Did it actually say 'paid' - as in past tense?
If they have paid someone, I'd be concerned that an error may have been made with who they've actually paid.
Reading back through your posts, you paid by Direct Debit.
    According to TUI website:
It’s taking us a little longer to refund direct debits as mandates are cancelled.

How did you get on with the dispute your bank raised?

Just checked my email again, no its says "refund confirmed"   No mention of when I would get the money.

I have not heard anything from my bank.  I am going to ring them on Monday.

Hi Ralph, my refund took about 24 hours (working day) to hit my bank account after receiving the "refund has been paid" email.

    Was that direct debit?

I've had the "refund processed" email for the final outstanding amount of my holiday, which was by direct debit, I'm trying to work out how long it should take to hit my account, have asked TUI on Twitter but no joy.

Hi, yes I'd paid on my debit card in three installments: 100 deposit, 300 2nd installment and then the final balance. Holiday fully paid for before I requested the refund. Those 3 payments came through as separate transactions but all arrived at the same time.

That's not a direct debit, you paid by debit card, the current issues people are having are those who have paid by direct debit (there seems to be a challenge at TUI's end in refunding those payments, due to the lack of a "live" direct debit mandate)
