My Mom would have booked in the travel agent shop, so has letters relating to the holiday.
Link in my post just above yours.Because she's 71 and doesn't have the skills to look things up online. I have had to get up to speed with this as well, as my own holiday was booked with Jet2 and have sorted that out. I never book with TUI.I will send this to her.I actually meant I didn't know the reason your Mum needed to get in touch with TUI, not her technical ability/limitations.For example, she may have been trying to pay her balance. She may have been wanting to ask TUI's advice about whether she should pay her balance. She may have been asking what would happen if she didn't pay her balance. She may have been wanting to cancel her booking. She may have just been wanting to ask some random question. But I'm glad you appreciate the information.0 -
Managed, eventually, to get through to Tui yesterday, 6th May. We should be in Greece now. They agreed a full refund within 5-7 days. We’re pensioners with high risk health conditions and won’t be able to travel again (even in the U.K.) until a vaccine has been found, so a credit would be pretty meaningless for us. I have other younger and healthier friends who, having already committed savings to a holiday, are happy to take a credit until they can travel again.0

A little hope to those that booked in a TUI store and are still waiting for the refunds which were agreed BEFORE Tui started to offer refund vouchers. (I posted about this on 1st May) My holiday was cancelled on 17/03/20 departure date was to be 04/04/20.I have received my Refund in full -£18k paid into my account yesterday, but waited till today to post this, just in case I was seeing things! 😀0

There must be something in the air. Posted a week or so ago, holiday cancelled 15 March. Finally got through today, the gods must have been smiling on me, no wait. Full refund now in the bank and the lady I spoke to was lovely.0

Suspect that "something in the air" mentioned above is the threat of legal action from the regulator. Keep trying the phone number (We used 0203 451 2868) and redial until you get through you may take a while to get past the options and may have to do this several times but you will eventually get through. It took us just over and hour to get to speak to someone once we got past the recorded messages and options etc. We spoke with a pleasant member of staff working at home (This is not their fault! I'm sure they have worries of their own) and our refund was processed and hit our credit card account the next day. We did not have to wait for the credit voucher to arrive. If your holiday has been cancelled. Keep trying you will get through and you will get your refund.0 -
Has anyone managed to get through to TUI recently. I don’t want a credit refund, I want my money back, but have been trying to get through for a week with no luck!0

I thought I would offer a glimmer of hope. I phoned and got through to them on Tuesday (40min wait) and asked for a full refund, the guy was very helpful and said I would receive email confirmation within a hour and the money would be back in my account in 5 to 7 days. No email arrived, so imagine my surprise when I looked at my bank earlier today and the money was there.
just for info booked online, paid on my debit card and was due to fly on 2nd May.
My parents, however, booked in store and due to travel late March and are still waiting.Well Behaved women seldom make history

Had a holiday booked with Tui , should have flown to Mexico today. The holiday was cancelled due to coronavirus. Had email from them saying it was cancelled and to wait for credit voucher. Nothing heard from them so phoned today and automated message said ,' due to the volume of call please phone back later which I did immediately and heard the same message so phoned again straight away and got through. Selected option to speak to someone and waited approx 45minutes then was answered. We told them we wanted a refund not credit voucher and she said ok , asked the relevant questions about our holiday and said she would just put us on hold while she verified it but said if we were cut off she would try and ring us back .then there was silence but then I had an incoming call from Thompsonfly which I didn't answer because it would have cut me off. After a couple of minutes she came back on and asked for details and said it was fine the money would be put back in our bank. I then phoned the Thompson fly number and it was just the same automated message as before. I think this was a deliberate way to make me answer thus cutting me off from speaking to someone and hopefully not phoning them back !!0
