Our honeymoon was meant to be 8th May to Walt Disney World & Disney Cruise. US borders closed, Disney closed, but still no response from TUI to my 100 requests for refunds!0

I have a holiday in June booked with Tui in June and a cruise with them in July , I also have a mini cruise with PO for the 16th April , I am not expecting to hear anything yet , I have already spent the money , so there is no point worrying about it . In the grand scheme of things its really not that important0 -

Unfortunately, this means that we’re no longer able to offer TUI holidays travelling on or before 14 May 2020Yes, if you’ve already requested a refund you’ll receive this back to your original payment method. We’re trying to process these as quickly as possible so please do bear with us.
Maybe your 100 requests for a refund for the same holiday is contributing to the delay...

Hi all
Long time since I've posted but been lurking still, hope you're all staying in, staying safe and staying well...
I'm in the same boat as a lot of others, whereby we have booked to go to Turkey with TUI in August 2020, paid 500 via debit card in a TUI travel agents in Feb as the deposit with the remaining full balance due by 20th May (3300ish).
My wife is full-on still under the impression that we should still pay the balance and wait and see (and I'm being over-cautious basically), but I'm not so sure. We will be paying 1800 of the remainder with our saved money and the remaining 1500 on 0% credit card for another couple months. I'm not keen on a voucher for next year as we are already planning to visit America for 3 weeks with my mum for her replanned wedding (already cancelled for this year).
What are my best options do you think? Sacrifice now and cancel (can I push for a deposit refund of sorts?) or take the risk and pay in full?
Thank youPugzy...aka Mike

If you read the TUI website it says vouchers can be cashed in at any time.
You wont get a refund of your deposit if you cancel yourself. Stick with payments.0 -

and this is the legal situation, Section 3 (14) https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2018/634/contents/made
Personally, I wouldn't touch a TUI refund credit note with a bargepole (or risk being viewed as accepting an unsolicited one), not unless the CAA confirm it IS ATOL protected should TUI fail, or the Government confirm they'll step in if not. ABTA & TUI can state all they like that it's financially protected, meaningless! I've been very lucky to have my cash refunded (trip 19/4, requested refund by 'phone 22/4, & £4425 back on my c/c 36 hours later), others have fallen foul of TUI's promises & still waiting several weeks after asking.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -

If you read the thread properly this has been mentioned.
Bombarding them with emails is not doing anything apart from clog up the system .Ex forum ambassador

I was giving facts as they stand regarding the issue of TUI RCN's & the actual current legal position, so that those caught in this unprecedented predicament can make an informed choice.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
Well if people are sensible and use credit cards then there wouldnt be a "predicament" if TUI went bust. Sadly, you cant teach pork.0
