TUI refunds thread

I booked online for a trip from 14 August and paid in full earlier this year.
- Notified by email of cancellation on 2 July. Elected to take the full refund and got immediate email confirmation.
- On 17 July received the same email as @shandypants5. I took it to mean TUI considered the refund paid, which concerned me as I hadn't received any money. Called them and they sa@shandypants5 en processed that day.
- Deposit was refunded to credit card the same day (17 July) and the balance to my current account on 21 July.

Good to know that we are getting the same emails and the money is appearing, thank you!ResignedRobot said:First post and a typo. Grr.
You should be able to edit typos by hitting the little cog, shows up top right for me

No cog. Presumably as I'm a new user there's a minimum number of posts threshold. Thanks anyway.Daisy_Duck said:

Good morning!shandypants5 said:Received an email yesterday about a fortnight after they cancelled and instructed me to cancel if I didn’t want a voucher but a full refund.
this is what it says.£3,862.95Total paid to date0.00Cancellation Fee£2,704.05Coronavirus Cancellation Fee Override-£2,704.05Balance Unpaid0.00
Following on from the email I received that I mention in the post above yours, I had another email yesterday that looks exactly the same as yours (but with the cost of my holiday at the top).
Checking last night I saw that money had been refunded to my credit card, the correct amount that I had paid via this method and not the amount stated in my first email from them.
I am still awaiting on the rest of the money (two thirds of the holiday) that I paid via DD.
Given that my first email was incorrect, I am now hopeful that the second one that looks like yours is also incorrect and has been fired out as someone has processed the refund to go to my current account. Feel even more hopeful now I can see you have had the same!
Will keep an eye out over the next few days and hopefully it will magically appear- let us know if yours arrives!
the full refund amount landed in my current account this morning. ( I paid by debit card)
the refund was in two payments exactly the way I paid it to them.
Thanks for the support everybody, feeling very relieved. Hopefully everyone else will have a good outcome.👏👏👏👏“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”1 -
My refund email back in April looked exactly like that, leaves you thinking "WHAT", doesn't it! Of course, all the refund IS paid (as was mine sometime within the 36 hrs later when I noticed it back on my card), but it could all be phrased a little clearer IMO.shandypants5 said:Received an email yesterday about a fortnight after they cancelled and instructed me to cancel if I didn’t want a voucher but a full refund.

No mention of a refund! And the phone number is constantly wait in a que. I gave up after an hour.I had paid in full by debit card well before any of this started.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.2 -

DD back to your bank? My payments made same as yours, but my refund confirmation email stated ALL my payment would be refunded to my credit card. Not that I mind, I'll accept my money back however TUI give it!Daisy_Duck said:Money all back now

Thanks for all the helpful and reassuring updates people have went out their way to post for people.
My September Mexico holiday was cancelled on 10th July - which I issued a refund for within 15 minutes of the email.
Still nothing back 17 days later but after reading the most recent replies I feel confident I will get it this week!
Similarly to a few posts, I paid some off using my DC and a large sum using my CC.
I will give an update as and when I am refunded.2
