Hoseasons cancelled my holiday. Refund?

Hoseasons have cancelled my holiday in April as the site is closed all the website says is we can change dates. I've looked at various other dates for 2 nights, same site, same accomodation, same guests and they're all way more than I've paid.

Am I allowed a refund? If the prices for other dates were similar I'd maybe have transfered but being self employed and now reudxed to zero income I can't afford to pay more! :-(

Any advice appreciated.

  • I am interested in this also - by all accounts they are offering to waive the admin fee to reschedule holidays but their prices have been inflated.  We are a large party of 20 and are unlikely to be able to find another convenient date.  The ABTA web site says UK accommodation only holidays are covered by the same advice as foreign holidays in this current crisis.  We should be offered a Refund Credit Note to use when rescheduling and if we cannot reschedule by 31.07.2020 we are entitled to a cash refund.  This is not what Hoseasons are doing!
  • I would start by checking the terms of the contract on cancellations that was in place when you first booked. In theory you would assume that a refund is due as it is the company that has cancelled.

I also have same problem, Justgo have cancelled our trip in April, because of current situation re; Virus, we have asked for a refund but reply was, they are not currently giving refunds but we can book another trip by 31 December 20, Can they withhold our money Legally ?
  • Their T&Cs state UK accommodation only holidays are excluded from their ABTA cover and that they have no liability for cancellations outside of their control so I'm guessing the only way we will be refunded is if they bow to the immense pressure of the social media backlash currently damaging their reputation?

Hoseasons are failing their customers during this crisis.  They are refusing to refund even those whose bookings have come and gone.
They will not even deal with me as my booking is for the 22 May,  one day outside their arbitrary cut off point.
I have annual travel insurance but am unsure whether I will be able to claim?
It’s also the one time I didn’t pay by credit card because it’s a UK holiday.
Center parcs and other UK holiday companies are refunding people so why not Hoseasons?
There are 2500 complaints on their twitter page and a similar amount on facebook.
My booking cost £2500 and I could really do with the refund.
They have today released a ‘price promise’  to move bookings to next year, again the cut off date is May 21st 🙄

Has your holiday even been cancelled yet?  If not, you're jumping the gun.  Presumably you'll be in the next category they deal with.  You can't blame them for prioritising those with more imminent bookings.

The problem is that they aren’t dealing with the more imminent bookings in any kind of meaningful way, if they were it would reassure me .
They aren’t even dealing with people who should have already travelled.
If the other major UK holiday companies can manage to give good customer service, why not hoseasons?
Customers who booked direct with holiday home owners on the same parks have been refunded,  so it is purely down to Hoseasons and their shoddy service.

We're due to go away with Hoeseasons next month for my husband's 30th. The park is currently corona closed and I can see it remaining so. Hoeseasons have said they'll issue credit notes but we don't usually take UK breaks and obviously it won't be my husbands 30th any other time so I'd prefer a refund. I've tried looking in the terms and conditions but it's quite contradictory. Has anyone had a Hoeseasons refund?

Have a search for other threads, there were certainly some a while ago.  I suspect Hoseasons will resist proper refunds as most other companies are doing.

    He'll have a birthday in what, about a year's time?  :)
  • Hi @KF81
We're in a similar boat with a Landal Greenparks booking next week. We've had a holiday voucher (from Hoseasons) but ideally want a refund. I've e-mailed them through their site today. I'm searching the boards as suggested. I paid on credit card, so also planning to check if Section 75 applies...
