Will lockdown affect house move?

We're due to move house in 2-3 weeks. I would class that as essential travel but what do I know. Will it be affected?
There must be thousands in the same boat as March/April is one of the busiest periods for people to move home.
Would be very grateful if somone could clarify if estate agents will remain open and removal / van hire companies etc ?
We signed a lease agreement and there is someone due to move in to our current flat. We will need a roof over our heads.
Very anxious right now.

Nobody here has any more detail than you do about what Boris announced half an hour ago. I expect that will be published...somewhere...very soon.

Probably best for everyone to stay put until this Covid-19 is no longer a threat.
Moving house is not essential.  In the scheme of things a delay of a few months is not a disaster.
  • How can people argue it’s not essential.

Doesn't make you feel any better when you were literally about to exchange and complete (on Wednesday !!!!!!).  Sorry feeling very sour about the fact that if people had adhered to social distancing we might not be in isolation now.  I will get over myself in a minute.

Same boat. Due to conclude the contract this week and move Friday. Hopefully they publish some guidelines with more detail.
  • Same here. We've emailed our solicitor to ask what (if anything) they can tell us.

About to finalise tomorrow or wednesday and have already gave notice with our rental landlord, absolutely cannot afford mortgage and rent! What a mess!
  • Same boat here, supposed to exchange, complete and get keys tomorrow. Essentially homeless if it doesn’t happen.
  • Same boat as well! Contracts already exchanged and due to complete next Mon 30th. Also essentially homeless if this doesn’t happen and will have no choice but to sofa-surf with friends if it doesn’t go ahead (surely worse than moving to one place and staying put surely?) no idea where I stand. Won’t be sleeping tonight that’s for sure!

Yup, it was delayed too, the seller had freehold issues on their new place, should be in by now!! Good luck!
