We also try to fit in a exercise activity and I try to get him to do 1 small job a day too. We are both adjusting to the situation.kazwookie said:Well that was a close call, ( approx 24 hours the other way and nothing would move, but the house is sold) the removal company I used to take furniture to storage has closed until further notice at 4pm today, email says anything in storage will stay there until further notice,
I have had quite a productive day today, despite the fact that my arthritis has been playing up big time:
- made various phonecalls and sent emails - all very time-consuming
- dealt with a frog: I sent the four letters that have been haunting me for a week
- found an elusive form: it was in the correct file, and I'd been looking in the wrong place!
- sorted a box of papers, shredded a couple that were ood and moved others to more logical places
- made lunch and had 20 zzz afterwards, because my eyes were hurting
- mowed the lawn
- took Rosie for her walk and delivered a packet of GF chocolate digestives to a friend, for whom I'd bought them when I was on coffee duty at the Old Wives' meeting (but then she wasn't able to come that evening because she was ill)
- found that St*rdr*ps destroys ant infestations effectively, so i don't need to go out to get any of that enormously expensive Japanese deterrent
- watched Jamie cooking: I think he must have been stockpiling tinned tomatoes!
- turned the leftover lasagne filling into chilli con carne for a good, filling meal
- loaded the dishwasher and wiped down the sides
I shall be standing at the bedroom window at 8.00 pm to join in the applause for the NHS workers.
ETA: That was pretty amazing! We live right on the edge of the conurbation, slightly above the town. I hadn't expected to hear anybody else, but there was applause from all across the valley, not to mention fireworks! Community spirit is not dead

Second bowl of pots WUDUPA.
At 8pm I stood at the front door to applaud the nhs workers. I live on the main road through the village and thought I was the only one clapping, then I heard someone down the road clapping too; so I woot wooted and they woot wooted back. Then there was a delightful jangling of bells and clanging (pans?) from down the road, and the new neighbour directly across from me was clapping too. When we'd finished I went across and had a (distant) chat with her. I've been invited to go for coffee when this insanity ends.
Oh, and I've put a rainbow in the window. I don't know if that is a national thing, or just a local one.
Another day done. Sweet dreams everyone

Round how lovely, we joined in with our neighbours too. Kaz, must be awful for you, one of my friends was moving tomorrow and has had it put back. Interesting fact, if you have chemo and your hair falls out your nostril hairs fall out too. So if you get hayfever like DS1 you get a very runny nose, which is not nice. Sorry if you were eating when I told you that.
ASB yes DH works outdoors so in many ways its fairly safe. Its just such a worry that DS might get this. Anyway, busy couple of days, I seem to be doing an awful lot more cooking, cleaning and laundry and there arent enough hours in the day, but I am managing. DS1 has only been to hospital twice this week which helps. See you all tomorrow x

It should be about ALL those working right now.. the shop staff who are abused (My sister), the delivery drivers bringing supplies and food (several relatives, including OH today), takeaway staff (DS1), those taking essentials to those trapped at home (most of my relatives, older, pregnant, sick, etc), the people washing the uniforms who are exposed to the very worst of all things nasty (DiL).. Posties and police and bank staff and teachers etc etc.. all out there doing their bit and getting no recognition. Most are probably at higher risk of catching lurgies than hospital staff because no one knows who is contagious and they are mixing with greater numbers of the great unwashed.
My sister took great delight in refusing entry to the shop to 3 people today.. they had spat on the path outside and were coughing and snotting everywhere so she wouldn't let them in! She had a woman wearing gloves around the shop.. got to the till took off a glove to get her money out and put the glove in her mouth!! Way too much hysteria and no common sense.. I have nothing nice to say about the general filthy populous at the moment.. having to be told to practice basic hygiene.. it's a disgrace.
Weirdly I miss the noise of the children playing at the school out the back.. I do NOT miss the idiots from the pub opposite.. not at all, not one bit.
I want something delicious, I've run out of apples, I have no crisps.. and I am on the verge of a tantrum... I WANT YUMMY THINGS!!!!
Now look... screeching idiots have remembered where their front doors are.... *goes to yell like a fishwife.at randomers in the street*
I'm going on a snack hunt.. and woe betide us if I come up empty handed!! (I think AF may be lurking in the wings lol)
Oh.. ordered meds on Boots website.. lets see if that actually works.. I can't order form the surgery without actually going and taking a piece of paper with everything written on but if this online thing works I will get Boogs sorted too.

Yes the 8pm clapping was amazing, Mr N was convinced in our small, one-road village nobody would turn out, but lots did. Did spare a thought for any tired workers desperately trying to get some sleep amidst all the noise. Thoroughly agree with Pigpen about it should be for all workers not just NHS staff. I passed the binmen when I went for a run this morning and made a point of saying "thank you for working". I also left a thank-you card (not in envelope so he won't have to touch it!) for the milkman tomorrow - even if the eagerly-awaited yoghurt didn't arrive yesterday (sold out).
After my run while Mr N went for a cycle, we had a cooked breakfast to finish up 3 rashers of bacon that I felt had been hanging around.
Then more report writing for me, gardening for him.
Rang an elderly friend from church (and a fellow flower arranger), meant to do it sooner but felt she had quite a few family locally. Was really glad I rang as although she had seen people - a neighbour fetches her paper in the mornings and walks the dog - she sounded a bit down. Her internet has packed up too. I offered to take the dog out in the evenings, so Mr N and I had our second 'exercise' of the day...........we said we'd do it alternate days with another helper, and give her a ring early next week when we may hit the supermarket.
Really bad news from our friend who had extensive op and chemo for ovarian c just before Christmas. She'd been doing well and no checkup needed before end March/April. Hospital advised having the blood test early. Blood test not good. She now needs more chemo but the hospital can't do the necessary scan or the chemo because of the virus taking up all the staff. She's put in for ill health retirement but the idiot man at pensions said it doesn't sound too serious!!! so wants a 2nd opinion. No ladies bits, no spleen and a stoma bag - yeah right, not at all serious then......Rant over.
Must do a better kitchen clean tomorrow, it's beginning to look a bit grotty with the superficial cleaning it's had.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.13 -
Lots in our neighboorhood out clapping at 8pm. I found it quite emotional & a little surreal.
I'm really annoyed! I bit into the pizza that we had for tea & I broke my tooth! I now have a gap, and it's at the front!! 😱 Its a good job I don't have to go out anywhere! 😂 Anyway, I am going to phone the dentist tomorrow to see if anything can be done 😭
I didnt get much done in the garden because it was still too breezy. I really must get my butt in gear and achieve something useful!!
Night night everyone!8 -
GI.. That is always my worry. Most of my siblings have a capped front tooth due to breakages. I have a cracked one. I also havea wobbly filling at the back I am hoping will hold out a big longer.. I am terrified of dentists anyway.. mine is very very nice and treats me like I am 3 when I go for myself.. yet treats me like a grown up when I take the girls. She is fabulous. She allowed the girls to be looking in OH's mouth while she did his check up and explained what she was looking at and told them about fillings (he has a few) and showed them he has a baby tooth still.. she is nice.
Corned dog done for tomorrows dinner.. it smells delish.
1 more load of washing done
OH is sharpening all the knives for work, or he is planning my demise!.. it must be making very strange noises out of our perception because the kittens are not liking it. Their ears are all twisty.
Tomorrows job is to finish tidying the backroom and get the disco lights in there so the girls can have a disco after dinner.. they were promised a weekly dance night.. so Fridays it is.
Hayfever drugs worn off so I've started coughing again.. off to deal with that, make a cuppa and crawl in my nest. Looking forward to my shower in the morning for some reason I am feeling icky tonight, possibly from cleaning the back room, it was pretty gross in there. I have washed my hands and face but still not good. .

Morning all,
Up before everyone else today which is nice. It's quite cloudy here but forecast to brighten up later on. I have a load of washing to hang out, and will take the dog for a walk shortly. Oven pizzas and breaded garlic mushrooms for tea - I've made a meal plan that involves us not having to go shopping until Wednesday. My money WILL stay in my bank account for as long as it possibly can!All the stuff I put out in the street for free was taken yesterday so my garage is a little emptier.
Happy Friday all xx10 -
Morning xx
Another beautiful sunny, but frosty, morning here in Round-land.
I've made my bed and supped my first brew - it's definitely a morning where two brews are necessary
I'll be back later with Round 1 - but I'm going to browse fb first.
Have a good day

Morning all
Another lovely sunny day here, as we come to the end of our 2nd week of lockdown. Looking back on it, the house is a very little bit cleaner and tidier, I am half a kilo lighter and I haven't killed OH.
Dot to dotting on the landing has nearly joined up, I think I will move the furniture and give it all a good clean today.
Garden progress is very very slow but partly due to a bitter northeasterly wind which makes me quite cold.
So far today
Bed made & clothes picked up,
Pellet stove cleaned, reloaded and on
WM on
Hugs, sticks and spoons available
See you later
