fayolle.. we had a twit on our local fb group saying to 'sanitise bin lids' .. honestly.. there are some nutters out there.. Binmen wear gloves and carry sanitiser on the vans and who doesn't wash their hands after handling their bin? I despair at the lack of hygiene some people must live with on a day to day basis if they do basic stuff like moving bins and using the toilet etc without washing their hands.. no wonder they are ill.. it's gross!
I hit the motherlode last night.. found a full bottle of hand sanitiser in my med box which needs a severe restock when we get some cash! I have a trunki case we drag on days out with bandages and plasters and calpol and everything you could possibly ever need bar an xray machine and it is empty!

Hello all.
Back to the paid stuff today. In between shifts at the moment so dropped my car off for its service and mot then found out it could have been delayed but it needs doing anyway and we need to keep both cars roadworthy in case anything does go wrong with either. We are both keyworkers but I can wfh.
No flying apart from dailies. I am enjoying the sunshine in the garden before the cold weather hits at the weekend.Spend less now, work less later.15 -
Oh kazwookie, I am so sorry. Hope you get somewhere quickly xx
I am plodding on slowly - too slowly, really, but I am tired despite a good night's sleep. I have hung out WMx1 and go another load in the machine. I have tidied the kitchen, cleaned the bathroom and dusted the CD shelves. And I've caught up with friends on FB and via phone and text. I have been putting off writing some church letters for too long and have made a decision that we will not be able to eat this evening until I have sent off 4 emails. The grass needs cutting too, and of course Rosie needs her walk. Heigh-ho, I'm supposed to be retired and vulnerable (not that DH thinks so!).
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round as needed xx14 -
Went out into the garden after lunch to do a bit of much needed weeding and within a few minutes the handle of the little fork (trowel size) broke. So pulled up a few things by hand and then went and sat in the sun.
Made a much needed phone call to the chemist who confirmed my presciption can be renewed without a new prescription even if I have lost the original prescription. One less thing to keep me awake at night.
Bins full but am pleased as they get emptied on Friday morning, challenge is to fill the bin each week, I will get rid of the rubbish out of this house.
Next need to go and cook some mince for tonights dinner and want to try and stuff a couple of tired looking courgettes with it for lunch tomorrow.14 -
Lodger helped us dismantle the table from next door so it's now in bits on my office floor. As soon as I've got the energy I'll put it back together again and have a shot at organising my office so that I can work in there again. It's been heading for Room of Doomness for some months and right now it's at Peak Doom. Lodger also put the chicken manure pellets and horse pooh compost on the trees and bottom bed in the communal garden, so that's another job I can tick off the list. Lodger is a bit of a star, in lock down here when he should, by now, have been in his new to him flat, having moved to this city for a new job just over two weeks ago, only for the place to shut down completely. He's twiddling his thumbs going a bit mad, poor chap. The occupants of the house opposite us were having a social coffee while OH, the lodger and I were doing necessary things outside, the occupant of the flat under that house came up to join in, and the woman from the house next door to them also trotted by on her way out for her daily exercise. It's the most sociable we've ever been, and into that the postie arrived and said how lovely it was that neighbours were all talking to one another. There are some good things happening.Better is good enough.14

That's good news, kazwookie
I decluttered 2 hours' sleep after lunch and feel a lot better for it. Still haven't sent off my 4 emails, but I've hung out teh 2nd load of washing, taken Rosie for her walk, and video-called DD and DSG1+2 - and now I'd better feed DH before he turns into a monster.

Evening all!Flying has been happening, but with the homeschooling as well as shopping for our house as well as my parents and their friend who is on chemo, I've had little time to post. I couldn't believe how many pages I had to catch up on when I returned. Great to see some familiar faces that I'd not seen for a bit too.DH is now off and will hopefully be getting the 80% pay from his work. I'm still waiting to hear what will happen for me, as have had absolutely no contact from my agency at all! Universal credit is due to call tomorrow afternoon, so fingers crossed they can help. The plus side of DH being off work since the lockdown was announced, is he's become my teaching assistant/flyman.
I told him that now he was home, I expected him to pull his weight with the housework, and asked him to clean the bathroom today. He's done most of it, but used the wrong antibac cleaner on the toilet (the type that's meant to be rinsed off) and has made it all sticky, so need to get him to rinse it off somehow later. I've also been trying to keep on top of the living room once I've set the boys off on their tasks, and hoovered out the sofa thoroughly. Kitchen table is being cleaned regularly so that DS1 has a clear workspace to do his written work. Feeling fairly positive at the moment. Hope tomorrow is another good day.
Hugs and spoons and get well soon vibes to all who need or want them.sexymouse xxPS Kazwookie - so glad your accommodation has been sorted out. xEnjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/201714 -
After a lone and slightly emotional moment late last night (NB: Never listen to an acoustic fingerstyle version of Green Day's Wake Me Up When September Ends when you're worried about whether you'll be able to breathe come morning), I stuck on the Amazon Stories' version of Winnie the Pooh and went to sleep. I woke up without the ton weight on my chest and, other than a bit of a swollen gland in my throat and a stickiness at the back like a normal cold, I've felt much, much better today. Which was handy when relocating a couple of newly emerged Buff Tailed Bumblebee Queens from inside back to the sunshine.
Lots more code sending, a few 'Can I have a copy of my report/mock results that I've already had four copies of but lost every time?' and another 'There isn't any work, why are you all sitting at home on full pay and drinking tea?' 'Here's ten classes which your child should be logging into since last September - they all have work set on them', plus some checking on somebody whose family had awful news recently, just to say we're still here.
Himself has been largely keeping out of my way, as he started annoying me with watching 80s TV shows and then tried talking at me about dinner whilst I was dealing with one particular thing that involved five different online systems that aren't designed to work together with rubbish proxy network connections dropping repeatedly. Once I turned to him and asked exactly what he'd just said (nicely), he twigged that I was working, not wallying about on the internet like he does and went and sorted it himself.
He's steamed the kitchen tiles behind the cooker, which has turned them white (which is nice), but CBA to clear the other sides to be able to do the rest. And his idea for dinner - a light chicken stew with loads of veggies and homemade dumplings (I reminded him there was a pot of thyme growing on the windowsill) was absolutely lovely.
He's just done his exercise/food trip round the corner and came back brandishing oats and fresh ginger like a prize. So I've got a lovely mug of proper ginger, lemon and honey tea and then breakfast tomorrow, instead of a handful of pretzels.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll14 -
Kaz.. so pleased you are sorted
Shed better but far from perfect.
Washing up to date so I can crack on with bedding tomorrow.
Squeak showered and in bed, she was thick mud.
I keep finding more jobs for OH lol.. he doesn't seem to mind yet!
I need a nail fix asap.
