Robisere said:Is anyone watching Britbox, and is it any good/worth the money? Appears to be just recycled old BBC and ITV programming, of which there are enough repeats on other channels.0

That and they won't show It ain't half hot mum and other stuff so I buy the boxset. I use the TV tax money wisely over the year. Then there is Showbox and 123 movies that do loads of BBC content as well as the subscription channels, Netflix Prime and Disney.Someone please tell me what money is0

What used to pee me off with all of this TV game as I call it , is that if I watched a successful tv series on terrestrial tv , then it would be hijacked by sky and the like and if you haven't got that you'd miss out . For example, mad men . Then on Netflix I'd watch Braquo series 1&2 , on Netflix and the other series are nowhere to be seen . Sometimes it's better to buy the dvds instead imho. I really liked Borgen and that programme seems expensive to buy on dvd . It wasn't on Netflix the last time I had it . Not sure if it's on amazon prime . I'm waiting for better call Saul to finish its latest series so I can use Netflix for a month . I found Netflix ltd after a while and was throwing money out the door .Thankfully I'm more into music than tv , but even then there are a multitude of ways of fleecing the fans with coffee table books , remasters , box sets and films . Cash cows everywhere 🐄🐄0

We have used most subscription services on and off since lovefilm was around. The most expensive is the TV licence, the only necessary one and the service used the least.
For lockdown we are subscribed to everything including Disney+ and spotify but I've cancelled NowTV for next month. I tend to subscribe to Netflix for 2/3 months at a time and then 3 months off.
The only one I keep is Amazon prime as I have a student discount so is much cheaper and it's useful for delivery.0 -

I've got Amazon video but that's mainly for free delivery. It does also have my favourite programme Outlander.
I can't keep up with Freeview there's so much and I record most so zap through the adverts.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I haven't worked out the cost of signing up to every possible service, though I could imagine it is comfortable a couple hundred or more a month. But with the exception of services like Sky, Virgin and BT, there is no minimum contract with most of them. So you take a month or two of Netflix to watch Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Cancel Netflix and then take a month of Amazon Prime to watch Picard. Add a month of Starzplay to watch Castle Rock. Cancel them. You don't need to take every service at once. Set a monthly budget you're comfortable with then pick and choose the services each month so you can see what you want to see.She would always like to say,
Why change the past when you can own this day?0 -
I have just the usual free view and amazon prime. we had prime initially because when we bought this place,we needed to buy loads of new stuff. and with prime we could order stuff from amazon, and get it next day. and cheap too. and so the amazon prime video was a bonus really.0
