Why are there so may different services nowadays, its like a whole new way to milk you of your hard earned dough!

I mean, generally speaking to have the option to watch anything you want, then you would have to subscribe to the following:
  • SkyTV/NowTV
  • Virgin TV
  • Netflix
  • Prime with adding such as MGM
  • DisneyTV
  • AppleTV
  • HULU
I currently use NowTV for Sky Atlantic, and buy the top ups on HUKD, log with sharing Netflix with my family, but its getting annoying that I have seen shows only on other platforms(Picard and Stargate Catharine on Prime/MGM).  Has anyone ever worked out the cost if you signed up to get all available tv shows?

    Have corrected it for you.
There's so many options as companies have realised there's a market for it eg Disney starting Disney+.
1 household wouldn't have all the services but a mix eg Sky and Virgin.
I have access to Virgin plus 4 of the others, Ill be looking at reducing this by 1 or even 2.

I don't have time to watch what I want/need to watch and I only have Freeview. I've no need to pay for any of these extra services.

I have Freeview, BT TV HD (plus Sports, for what it's currently worth) as part of my broadband package, and I subscribe to Netlflix and Amazon Prime ... the latter primarily for the delivery benefit so the TV/video side of it (plus cut-down Music) is a no-cost (in my view) added benefit.

I really don't see the problem with having lots of choice, i find Netflix alone has more than enough content to keep me entertained and enough new content being continuously added that realistically i could just have that on it's own and it would be enough so no need to subscribe to loads. I realise people will probably end up watching a lot of TV now if they are stuck at home but in normal times it gets boring just sitting round watching TV all the time.

I don't even bother with the expense of Sky, Virgin, BT or paying for Freesat,  Freeview & BBC iPlayer through the cost of a TV licence. The other online streaming platforms have more than enough content for me so I don't feel the need to access any live TV.
