Well, this is the 4th time in about 6 years my tesco credit card has been compromised
That right there would be ringing alarm bells for me. Most of us don't have this happen once in 6 years, never mind 4 times :o
I very much doubt Tesco credit card security is much better or much worse than any other credit card. I am afraid your thief is almost certainly much closer to you than you think.

with your luck dont buy a lottery ticket.
If I worked for a CC company my imstinct might be that you were responsible for  the frauds I would start my investigations with you.
Im not casting nasturtions  about you but im surprised they havent frozen your account .
  • Can I suggest contacting the Banking Ombudsman to get action - it has worked for me.
Make sure you have all your facts and figures etc. to hand.

Why should the cc company suspect me ? Can they prove I stayed at various hotels around the country ? no. To even suggest they may suspect me is ludicrous. And again, its someone overseas as the last transaction was an in flight facility from an American company. When I used to make biggish transactions on this card, Tesco would alert me to check its me. They no longer do this.

Its been 5 days since I contacted them and they still tell me they are very busy, even though they set up a secure messaging service through Twitter with the promise of a phone call 4 days ago which didn't come.

If it's a flight than if a visa card you can see who the flight booking names via a visa system.

I doub't they would suspect you as they will claim the money back from retailers. Who then have a chance to provide details of transactions. So on a hotel stay it would show names etc.
Now if it was in your name and contact details, that would be a different matter.

So I would not worry and ignore the "It's you" posters who are just aiming to get a bite.

hubb quote " Well, this is the 4th time in about 6 years my tesco credit card has been compromised"

he has bad luck and honestly doesn't know how this is happening that's why i think we should give  the benefit of the doubt.
    I blame Tesco CC.
Well when it happens a 5th time Tesco will be unconcerned and the same with the 6th time.
you might as well become  the scammer instead if it keeps going on.
Do you think it will happen a 5th time please ?

Still unresolved, even after filing a complaint. They tell me the card is blocked but I still need a credit card for some of my payments.
Can anyone recommend a decent company that gives cashback ?
