So I just thought I'd share that last night we were refunded direct to the credit card for the flights part of the lastminute booking we had made. So although it took 2 months and 11 days, lastminute did eventually process the refund !!! I hope they do the  same for everyone else on this forum.
We are still annoyed about lastminutes attitude towards the Hotel costs that they refused to reimburse, but we were fortunate that the insurance covered 90% of the accommodation (ie less excess).
Thanks for the update, is that 2 months from the date of departure? Or 2 months from the date flights were cancelled? And did LM charge you any fees to process the cash refund? or perhaps you got a full refund for flights?
2 months and 11 days from the date of departure and the flights were cancelled 5 days prior to departure date.
LM did not charge any fees, so the refund was for the full cost of the flights.
The last email communication we received from lastminute was 3 weeks ago, where they very clearly stated that they couldn't refund us until the airline had refunded them. I cannot see Lastminute changing policy so I guess Easyjet must has sent them the refund.

Thanks, that's odd, as they charge £30 handling fees for cancellations (even if airline cancels flight). Did you pay extra for their so called "assistance/protection package" when you purchased the holiday?

Nothing in their T&Cs that state and admin fees

In the unlikely event that the airline cancels or amends your booking (for example due to scheduling changes), or is otherwise unable to fulfil your booking, we will use reasonable efforts to contact you as soon as reasonably possible using the contact details you provided at the time of booking. If the airline is unable to fulfill your booking and is unable to provide an alternative, your booking will be cancelled with a full refund.

  • Hi I have agreed for a credit note voucher from last minute.com on the 16/05/20 as I was advised within a few weeks I would receive the voucher code so I could rebook as apposed to getting a refund it would take 3 months. I have now waited 6 weeks but still received no voucher code. Within 3/4 weeks I called last minute.com to chase the credit note voucher but they said it was due shortly yet still received nothing and now I am unable to contact them via phone/char/email. Please can anyone else advise if anyone has this situation and how can this be chased. Super stressed as I need the voucher as I have a booking already made in 4 weeks time. Thanks for your help

LM are not issuing any cash refunds. Their Options all lead to vouchers, including Option 3 labelled "cash refund" - this is actually a new contract . When you accept this, you accept vouchers from the airline / hotel at some future date. You sign away your right to cash, ATOL, legal protection, Package Travel Regulations - everything. No way are you going to get a "cash balance", you will receive vouchers - don't want to use them, can't use them for any reason ( including lockdown and FCO status) - too had , you will lose everything.

If that happens to me - I have only paid a deposit it will be a chargeback or Section 75.
If what you say is true they will have no defence.

I've received a cash refund from LM.
I had a flight+hotel package booked for the end of May.  The flight (Ryanair) portion was, to my complete surprise, refunded at the end of June.  I had selected the cash refund option when presented with the 3 options.
However LM won't refund hotel part, I'm having to try sort that myself.
  • I'm also in a similar position with lastminute.com. My trip in May was cancelled and I was given a refund credit note, they also gave me a £50 goodwill voucher. When trying to re-book for next year I realised that you couldn't use the £50 with the refund. I'm not going to be making a separate booking with them and the trip has gone up. But it's a much lower price elsewhere. There is absolutely no way of contacting them to try and resolve this as they are not accepting calls, tweets and there is no email. Looks like my only option is pay more or get less. Not happy! I would have accepted it if I could use the voucher on the same booking!
  • Ive got a voucher worth 654 euros? not sure but anyway, i managed to get it extended after hassling them on Twitter and emailing them....only 3months and been trying to book a flight, impossible....it runs out tonight now in 30mins.....Im lsing my money, very upset and cant go away anyway anywhere soon as being treated for Lyme privately...very stressful for me. tried booking next june to usa ABQ....nothing works, no availability, turkey...cairo, vietnam just so i can use the money and then just cancel and get another voucher and save some of this money...impossible.....
