If it's a Chargeback the retailer pays up, a Section 75 it's the credit card company.
So much more likely to fight a S75 as it costs them.

Would cancelling the card and getting my 11 month fees back change the way AMEX deal with the case?Life__Goes__On said:If it's a Chargeback the retailer pays up, a Section 75 it's the credit card company.

I've never had any dealings with AMEX but they still have to follow guidelines, so doubt it would bean issue.

Our ATOL certificate states "Package (multi-contract)"Butts said:
On the bottom right hand of your ATOL certificate does it say Package (Single Contract) ?foofi22 said:I'd be interested to know how you get on, seems I'm in the same boat.
LM have given me my refund options - a credit note (+£200 gift card), a voucher or a cash refund.
These only cover the flight costs "Since the accommodation part of your payment was due directly to the provider, the value of this will not be included..." This is even more frustrating as in the refund T+Cs they refer to the "flight + hotel package" (my bold)
What ever happens with this, this will be the first and last time I use LM
Anyhow after 2 weeks of exchanging messages with Lastminute, we gave up on trying to request the hotel part of our Flight+Hotel booking be included in the refund voucher/voucher/cash refund process.
Have been in contact with the Travel Insurance have agreed to cover the cost of the hotel, less £100 excess.
This does still leave us with the issue of actually receiving the flight refund from lastminute, and will go down the chargeback route if not returned to us within 2 more weeks (noting out vacation should have been April 1st !).
And of course, lesson learnt......don't assume booking through lastminute gives any sort of 'package' protection.
PS we were offered £100 extra from lastminute if we took the credit note.....we will not be accepting....1 -

Did you book everything together pay LM then find LM split the payment, taking payment for the flights and then the hotel took the money for the hotel?
If so, when were the two transactions dates?

Yes, we booked everything together and input credit card details once (16th Feb). Either we missed it. or we were never told of how lastminute would split it and transacted it as two charges. In hindsight, we might have challenged how/why it was split when we saw it on the monthly credit card statement not that it would have made any difference.Life__Goes__On said:

It also appears the hotel booking had gone through Booking.com. So it looks like lastminute took our Flight+Hotel package (which we now realise was multi-package, whatever that means), and processed the flights themselves, but sub-contracted (?) the Hotel booking to booking.com who used our credit card to pay the hotel direct.....we think !!!!
We have used lastminute before a number of times and this is the first time they have transacted it this way.1 -
Were they both dated the same on your monthly statement?

Then LH have it wrong, you did buy a "package holiday" from them.
You should complain about this

Hi,
Does anyone have an email address for last minute please? I booked flights and the hotel together (single package on the ATOL certificate) but it’s only giving me options to request a quote for cancelling the flights (which have already been cancelled by the airline). I can only find the phone line and seen lots of people reporting it takes hours to get through.
Thanks,
Sarah0
