I explained to them tonight I am with British Gas X and after a thorough investigation, the lady advised they havent taken the supply and I'm still with them! This is the poorest service I've ever had, cant contact anyone and i have no documented proof they have done anything. AVOID this company at all costs.0

Jay662 said:Can I stress to anyone reading this, do not join British Gas X.They failed to move my Gas over but didn't tell me, funny enough they're taking money for it and my acconut page states they have Gas. Managed to speak to someone who confirmed there was issues moving it over and i'm free to go elsehwere.Have started moving to Octopus energy, Gas is still with Bulb and energy with the crooks at British Gas X. So much for my savings. My gripe now, it's impossible to get a hold of anyone. The chat bot doesn't work and no one is picking up their escalations. I'm on my 5th attempt today to speak with someone. Yesterday it was waiting for 50 minutes for the bot to disconnect me. A complete shambles, DO NOT GO WITH THEM

I opted to change to another supplier as the general feedback for them is extremely poor. The fact they aren't actually supplying me (I'm still in supply with SSE) has forced my hand, this is why I never try anything new. Such a let down.1

An update on my experiences with British Gas X...
Electricity switched as scheduled on the 10th April, but gas couldn't be switched. So I was stuck with existing supplier for gas. Over the past few months, I've been at them constantly trying to get the gas switched. It took 3 attempts (they said they couldn't do it, then they could and a date was scheduled... then they cancelled again) but eventually our gas switched on Monday 15th June.
However, at the beginning of this month, they took 2x DD payments from us for some reason under two different reference numbers. I asked them what was up yesterday and they couldn't find the extra payment we've made and it hasn't been added to our account! I was expecting an e-mail from them yesterday with an update, but not had anything yet.
I raised the fact I would like to see compensation for the fact it has taken 2 months to switch gas and they have taken a payment from us and lost it. I'm not holding my breath and I'd probably need to go to the ombudsmen.
I hope the Cheap Energy Club pays out the £25 for the switch, or it'll be another kick in the teeth.
I would still say avoid these guys. Too much hassle, no ability to speak to someone on the phone, a dodgy website and an account balance that doesn't make sense. Even though this is the best deal for us at the moment excluding Outfox the Market.

I tried to switch to British Gas X back in April and then decided to cancel due to a number of factors.
However their useless IT dept. have built a website that just doesn't work.
British Gas X are a subsidiary of Britsh Gas, they are not the same.
They only had a web bot chat function when I tried to join and having managed to find an email address to complain to it has taken them 3 months to fully respond to me!
They now do provide an email address and web chat function alongside the web bot feature. I raised this with them when I could not get their web bot to work, like lots of other people. Their website (and those of British Gas) is not fully web browser compliant.
I would still AVOID them as their IT skills are so lacking it's a joke in this day and age plus BG are being investigated for removing the phone numbers from their bills atm too. BG and BGX are probably best avoided until they have improved their IT dept./skills.0 -
British Gas X has now become British Gas Evolve. It looks to be playing in the Zog/Gulf pricing league.

Did anyone actually get the cash back from this deal? I joined just weeks before lockdown so had a nightmare with electric switching from my old supplier but not gas. Finally after months I got this resolved but found they weren't taking my direct debits for three months. In all fairness rather than take it all in one lump they increased the DD to try and bring me back inline. As far as I can see I haven't had any cash back, when I managed to get in touch with them via email they said this should come from MSE and not them.Out of curiosity does the included home cover come with a boiler service? My brother took out a similar deal and got a service. I never got one on this.0

Can't say for sure about the boiler service; I paid a local company to do it in August. Probably should have checked first!1 -
Thanks for that I'll double check again in case I missed it somewhere on the statement. Regarding the boiler service I came across this earlier on from Page 2 of this thread......BobNeilson said:I took out this tariff a few months ago, as it offered "free" Homecare boiler cover as part of the deal. However, the Homecare cover isn't worth the paper it's written on. There is a £99 excess charge for each call out and there is no annual boiler inspection included. It doesn't bode well! I assumed there would be one, my boiler needed serviced in September but I didn't get it done by the engineer I usually use. There was something on BG website regarding Covid restrictions and boiler services not being classed as essential only call outs so I thought this was maybe why but as is now becoming more and more apparent BG and BG Evolve have very little to do with each other other than shared Directors. I don't know, maybe they might pull this thing together as it grows. I understand the model of supplying cheaper power to customers by having bare minimum over heads but they at least need to have enough infrastructure put together to deal with the customers they have even if they are limiting the amount of customers they take on.Seems like a bad time for Energy suppliers right now, My brother who was with my previous supplier Tonik and I put him on to is also having a nightmare, they have went pop and been taken over by Scottish Power. Maybe I should up my limit in the cheap energy club. Switching is starting to become a bit of a nightmare unless it's really worth a few ££££'s Just wish I could find a company that gives a competitive long term deal to make it not worth switching I could stick with.
