  • We were due to fly out to Singapore with Emirates on 7th April via Dubai. As Emirates have now cancelled all flights for at least 2 weeks are we entitled to a full refund along with seat allocation coats?
  • I booked a holiday home in Scotland for a week in June and have paid in full. Today I received an email from the letting agent telling me government advice means I can't travel there in June and that I need to claim my loss from insurance. Can they do this?
    Thanks

We have just had our Holiday to the Maldives cancelled , booked through Emirates holiday who are now no longer operating flights plus our resort is now shut down until June 30th
We are now being told by my travel agent  who I booked through that I am not entitled to a refund and that I will be getting a credit note . Is this right ?
  • I had a flight to Prague booked with Jet2 at the end of April, and they told me all flights would be stopped, so I asked for my options, because I expected they would jump at the chance of giving me a 'free' flight, when restrictions end, rather than refund me now.. but all they have said is they will not charge me to change the dates, and I would have to pay any extra, which suggests they will raise prices to recoup their losses! I replied they should refund me now, and I will shop around, when I am allowed to travel..
  • Hi,
Wondering if anyone can advise? I am a teacher and my husband is a bus driver. His holiday is allocated so can not be changed. This year, his holiday is in early April. We had a campsite booked in the UK, which has now obviously cancelled our booking. They are, however, refusing to refund us, saying they don't have to. Is this correct? Surely if they can't provide a service paid for, they have to refund?
    Thank you,
  • In respect cancelled holidays and refunds, I saw the this article in independent suggesting vouchers valid for two years instead of refund.

  • I booked a Tui holiday in store and the balance is due this weekend. As all the stores are now closed I cannot go in and pay and there is no way to pay on line for holidays booked in store. I have tried phoning them but had to give up after being on hold for 2hrs 10 mins . Is there any other way of contacting them?

On Eurostar site only info is that if booking is for travel by April 7 then voucher alternative on offer.
looks like the site has been updated
"we are able to offer you an eVoucher if you are due to commence your outbound Eurostar journey between Friday 13 March and Monday 1 June 2020."
there is a link to claim the voucher

    Hi all,

My friend and I have booked a holiday to Egypt in August.  He has paid the initial deposit (as he booked the holiday).  He already had an annual travel insurance policy in place, but I didn't have any at the time of the booking - I recently tried to get travel insurance but to no avail.

We need to pay the next instalment soon, but I've very worried that it'll be only my friend who receives a full refund should the travel company cancel our package deal holiday (with ATOL certificate).  My understanding is that ATOL only covers you if they go bust.

Without me having any insurance, is it safer to just cut my losses & pay the cancellation fee.  Even if we can go to Egypt a travel insurance policy won't cover me against anything to do with Coronavirus.

    Thanks for listening
  • My wife her parents 84 and 89 years of age have booked and paid for a cruise with Saga that sails on the 19/5/20.
I called Saga cruises this morning to cancel, to cut a long story short they said that they would review the situation at the end of April, I explained that government advice for the over 70s was that they should not leave the house for 3 months, she said that this was going to be reviewed in 3 weeks.
I feel that Saga are just hanging on to our money for longer as there is no chance of this cruise going ahead.
