Is it worth me trying to get some cover now, or wait to see the situation in a month/ 2 months time ? I would normally have got insurance immediately but because the bookings were all staggered and waiting for my surgery etc, I've been left in this impossible situation.
My family and I have all booked different 'aspects' of the same holiday in August.......flights to/from Bali, accommodation in 2 resorts and in my case, I'm going on to Australia to stay with my son, then returning to UK. One person has booked accommodation for 8 people, another booked separate accommodation in another resort, my son and daughter booked me business class Perth to UK. As I was due to have surgery in February I delayed buying Insurance (!) and am now wondering if it's possible/advisable to get insurance? I know the prices are going to be exhorbitant now, even if I can get it, but don't know if the others will be covered for bookings they've made on my behalf on their own insurance.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

Although I can get insurance now, they won't cover me for anything concerning Coronavirus.0

My friend and I have a booking to go to Las vegas on the 9th April 2020 which we booked last year through lastminute.com
Flying with United and staying at Bally's Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.
United Airlines have amended my flights three times without notifying me but they are still not cancelled and All of the hotels in Vegas are closed including Bally's which is apparently boarded up.
lastminute.com are not answering calls - you just get a 2 minute message and then it cuts you off - there is no email address and they are not answering their facebook messages.
I understand I am not the only person going through this but with less than 2 weeks until our flight I would like to have received confirmation of a refund by now.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you

My husband and I booked a cruise on Queen Elizabeth to Japan and South Korea with Imagine Holidays. As it was to celebrate a special anniversary, we booked it 2 years ago. We were due to leave on 7th April and have paid in full.
On 19th Feb we were told by Imagine that the cruise was cancelled and told they would be in touch, asking us not to contact them as they had lots of people to contact. Since then we have had no contact with Imagine and they are impossible to contact, either by phone or email to their customer services.
As they have had over a month to contact us, we are concerned that they are avoiding refunding our money. My concern is that they may disappear completely in the coming weeks, and I'm not sure how we will get our money back.
Has anyone any advice please?

Hello, I've been following all of this for weeks and I have a bit of inside info that I wanted to share. My other half is a travel agent and he genuinely doesn't know when/if the law will change but they are being told my their managers to hold back (due!) refunds until it does.
The information on consumer rights with ABTA is constantly changing, as ABTA are still in discussion with the government about changing the law. He is constantly checking the travel industry press, so now I am too as I have a very expensive flight booked for June! I've just been told that my hours and pay have been halved and I really need the money, not a voucher.
https://www.travelweekly.co.uk/ is where the latest industry news gets posted.
This interview with the CEO of ABTA is interesting and is probably the most accurate information available to anyone right now: https://www.travelweekly.co.uk/articles/365459/coronavirus-credit-notes-come-with-full-protection-assures-abta-boss
This is also interesting: https://www.travelweekly.co.uk/articles/365238/comment-why-the-government-shouldnt-change-the-package-travel-regulations-amid-coronavirus-crisis
Basically it's all still really unclear at a government and travel industry level. I am praying that I can get a refund when the time comes, but also I know that my poor bf is getting a lot of grief from customers right now about something that's outside of his control, so please be nice to your travel agent when you do speak to them!4 -
EasyJet refunds. I too need help to get a refund for a flight which EasyJet have cancelled. I do not want an alternative flight as the event I was traveling to will not be replanned. The website is not helpful and the customer service number is engaged from morning until close. Any help would be appreciated.0

Similar query to other posts on here but cannot access the replies to see the answers please help.Due to have to pay our balance by 7/4 on a holiday we booked last year to travel end of June unsure what to do and how we would stand in current situation if we paid it. Tui have noted they will allow anyone up to 30/6 to change and move to a different time but from 1/7 as normal at present.Initially planned to pay and just have refund if cancelled but now unsure if we go ahead and pay does it invalidate things.Would appreciate any advice if someone has been through this already.0

We will be going away next year as we have young kids so it will likely be with Tui, assuming they still exist, so the decision is simply down to one of two
1) pay the final payment (>£4k) now knowing at best I will get vouchers a few months after so I would be booking late August September for next year
2) book it now and not worry about the final payment until this time next year.
So it is all on, what do I think prices will do. Cant see them being lower in August.0 -
I paid for flights and accommodation to US for several of my family as a package with Travel Bag on a Halifax MasterCard. This was to attend my Uncles Memorial Service on 24/4 so clearly we can’t go and the service won’t be happening. Travel bag tell me I have to wait for the credit note to be issued before I can then apply for a refund. The Halifax bill now has to be paid. If the refund, assuming I eventually, get one comes from Travel Bag and is paid against my Halifax credit card account, how do I access the cash as I need to reimburse the members of my family who have paid me for their tickets?0
