Morning folks
We didn't end up going to the allotment yesterday but I put a very decent stint into the garden. It's looking tidy. Unfortunately the garden waste bin is now full
We did go to the farm shop. I was not pleased with how close everyone was standing in the queue and then this older couple pushed in behind me and she was breathing all over my arm
OH tried to apply for universal credit but it won't verify his existance. I guess it will mean phone calls on Monday.
It's very quiet outside. We live near a main road but I can't hear much traffic.
Anyway, focussing on small things:
B/L/D from stores - done
Used half milk, half water in my porridge so the milk goes further - done
Go to the allotment to sow peas - done
Sow some lettuces here
Make a mothers' day cake for OH's mum (intend to drop it on the doorstep)
Poss join in Skype craft chat organised by friend
Strip and remake bed. Hang bedding outside to dry - done
Switch out my winter blanket for my spring one as it's equinox (or poss yesterday... I always go by the 21st so I don't forget) - done
Have messaged several friends to check in on them - done
Discuss gym with OH. Gym has closed as of today but our coach is moving to online coaching and hiring out the equipment for home use. I don't think we could use a barbell here as our ceilings are too low. Single dumbbells would be ok as you can position yourself between the beams! - done
Have a good day and stay safe everyone

Morning everyone.
Still having password problems, having to reset it everytime
I hope everyone is doing okay.
I feel very discombulated at the minute so besides the other bits i want to do i am setting myself a task everyday. Today will be giving a good dust and hoover upstairs.
Also need to post a card and letter which i will do later in a quieter time.
Went shopping yesterday during Tesc@ elderly and vulnerable slot. It wasnt busy, nobody was panic buying, nice atmosphere, good social distance. Also took extra precautions of giving my hands a good santizer scrub once trolley was put back.
Managed to get everything except cat litter-that is still proving to be a problem.
Could only get Tesc@ cat food cans which have sachets mixed in anyway but all of the cats had a talking to of how we all have to make sacrifices and pull together!
. So far change of cat food has gone down okay.
I am rationing my food portions as i have a tendency to snack and i dont want to be putting on weight-i want to shift it!
Banking all checked this morning and balanced everything up. (Must get spends book up and running)
Parcel posted yesterday for charity auction using RM stamps. Hoping that the auction will keep running being online.
Still washing winter bedding making the most of the weather. It is cold and fresh outside but it has been lovely getting the towels dried outside and just need an airing after.
Another wash today on eco setting.
Thats about it from me.
Stay safe everyone x

Morning all
A couple of non-MSE things to start with: I recycled a can containing some men's body spray stuff, which I tried using, but it stung my skin and more importantly, clashed horribly with my perfume
. It was years old. Now gone. Tried some leftover cranberry sauce as breakfast fruit on my porridge this morning - not an experiment I intend to repeat, so the rest of that will go in the compost, and the jar (too small for jam or chutney) will be washed out and put in the recycling with the nasty deodorant stuff!Just got the old folding table I use for a potting bench out of the garage and set it up in a corner, then potted on the first batch of baby tomato plants. Recycled previously used pots. I always grow quite a lot because other people always want them - I only need about 6 for myself. Pleased therefore to see that batch #2 is coming up, as only 12 germinated from the first lot
Load of washing out on the line, it is sunny and windy today (so far, long may it continue)Cut some daffodil buds from a patch that I remembered never opened outside last year, so bought them in to see if they will open inside. Rescued a beautiful blue hyacinth that had broken off in the wind and was trailing on the soil, now perfuming the kitchen
There is some young rhubarb in the garden, so I will pick some of that and make a crumble later
Not sure what I will do for dinner, (meal planning fail) but it will be something I already have. No shopping planned, but I will transfer some money to DD1's account so that she can order something for GD2's birthday. Posted her card this morning with a free RM surveys stamp.DD2 is coming round for a bit with the kids - can't tell them not to, as little GD is really upset about school, not seeing her friends and their holiday being cancelled
Will try to do something outside with them as it is a nice day. Maybe they would like to sow some seeds for microleaves.4 -

Just posted a couple of unopened packets of ibuprofen tablets to a friend who takes them for her arthritis. She can't get any, and these were left over from when I had surgery last year, but still in date. I ended up just using the codeine stuff they prescribed for post op, and prefer paracetamol for the normal run of headaches etc. Used RM surveys stamps again.GD helped me sow some seeds, and wrote the labels very confidently (she has just turned 6). Not sure if I will be able to decipher them, but luckily I will know what the seedlings are once they come up
Dinner ended up being a HM pie from the freezer, and there is enough for tomorrow as well.Rhubarb now baked, not made the crumble yet, but will put it on the list for tomorrow I think!2 -
Hi Hope everybody is safe, at home, looked after, getting the help they need? Am now working from home 3-4 days a week, along w one uni student and one year 12 'er. Looking to see how tempers will play themselves out! Am hoping shopping will come back to be more normal later this week. While we now have lots of food, it is very hap hasard what we have and I would actually like to do some planned bulk buying when I go back to the shops on Friday. Also want to get bits from our local as want to spread out my spending away from the discount supermarkets. At the moment all bills are paid up, the car is pretty much parked, utility bills will increase, council tax has gone up, so I need to completely revisit my menu plan, also to base it on a more healthy fresh vege diet, and also spread out the cooking love, so I don't end up cooking 3 meals a day. (And tidying up after them). Will start by planning meals with all the funny open bits we picked up from ds uni house yesterday. And anything else that will need using up in the next week or so.
Also I actually mowed the lawn yesterday, it will need 1-2 more rounds before it start s to look like a lawn and not a field. All my pots look so dead, but will need to get some seeds going today.
And not the least happy mothers day to al of ya MSE mothers out there.
PS note to self must make rhubarb and berry crumble later :-)Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Morning folks
There's a very strong likelihood that I'll be out of a job at the end of the month. With OH's work drying up quicker than a saharan oasis and it not exactly being a booming labour market at the moment, the mood chez fanta cannot be descirbed as good I'm afraid. The news from outside the house is also scaring me witless.
I'm supposed ot be working today but they've stopped all non project work so I don't know what to do
Will enjoy reading your lists xxxLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.314 -
Carrie - big virtual hugs.Happy Mothering Sunday to all you wonderful ladies out there. Even if you’re not a mum you will be significant lady in someone’s life and today you all deserve a pat on the back.My list:
had pancakes and bacon for breakfast that felt like a treat in amongst all this
triage fridge - we’re a no food waste household anyway but in these times we need to be extra vigilant
strain stock I made in sc from a turkey carcass that we bought (and the rest of the turkey 😋) from a restaurant that had closed. It was actually very good value but I do hope it will help them too. DH carved and portioned it raw yesterday and froze it.Spend some time in the garden, tidying and lawn mowing for starters.DH to wash car
Tidy one more space
washing pegged out
have a good day all. Purps.3 -
Good Afternoon All
Another bright and breezy day here. Quick visit from DD - packed her up with a few tins of tuna (and a tin of salmon) that she's been unable to get in shops, she's a community nurse and like the rest of our fabulous NHS struggling to get the basics unfortunately I didn't have any pasta to give her so will have to look when we visit shops, couldn't get any bread or milk for mum either. Quick visit to mum to check she has everything she needs. Today's plans
