It seems we're all being asked for more from underwriters.

They've asked for current tax credit award notice but we haven't done it yet! (husband hasn't done his return) broker is going to tell them to take tax credits off as income as our affordability was fine without it (it was a very small amount) its going to be an estimated calculation for the award which will probably mean we are no longer entitled anyway.

Our landlord has become very difficult since she got wind of us buying and has put the rent up, asked for inspection and had the house valued twice! Can't take any more pressure.
Hoping we All have positive news soon!
Landlords can’t legally make you move out or evict: put the house for sale until you have moved out and a bond is handed back over. It’s crazy just because you are interested in a Mortgage. That can also only put the rent up by a certain percentage of the current rate. I know this because I am a landlord myself and unfortunately it’s what happened. The house we have moved out of was £875 and has just been put back up for £1100 😱 my mortgage is only £475 a month. What do people expect  us to do
It's crazy isn't it! She raised the rent by the max 5% so from 850-895. The house is falling to pieces and I think she knows she's going to struggle to rent it out again! It's just added stress we don't need right now

Some landlords don’t help themselves at all. Can’t believe they wouldn’t want anyone to secure their future by getting there own place.
Hang on in there I’m sure you’ll offer will come soon
  • Thought we were nearly there & on Friday were asked for bank statements from the beginning of 2019 😩

    Oh no 🙁

If you don’t mind me asking, have they given you a reason they want to see your bank account from over two years ago ?

No idea. Our MA said that we were just waiting for offer. And then that request came through. It feels like they’ve just plucked that out of thin air, I’ve no idea why they want them. It doesn’t correlate to anything. So frustrating 😩 just feels like a delaying tactic
  • Our case manager just let me know that it is another 5 working days on ours. We were supposed to hear last Friday.

The more I’m reading here with everyone’s updates the more I’m thinking these are all delay tactics with stamp duty ending next week.

I dont think itl have anything to do with stamp duty. It doesn't come into play until after you complete which even if you got your offer now, chances of competing by the cut off date would be slim and its of no benefit to the mortgage company to delay it as the payment for stamp duty is nothing to do with them.

Some of the requests really are mental though. Im still waiting to see what the 29th brings which is when I was told my next review is. But had hoped it would of been sooner.

    Are you self employed?
We had to provide 2 years worth of bank statements and they ask for every new month. They also asked for proof of rent payments for 2 years. I'm sure they make it up as they go along!
