That definitely sounds promising! Everything crossed for you!
We had an update from our broker to say the case handler would be reviewing everything before the end of this week before passing it over to the underwriter (assuming everything is ok). Our broker asked us to provide proof of deposit, various balances or proof of settlement payments, statements for everything under for sun, employer references, plus all the usual docs before our application was submitted - and they went line by line through our bank statements questioning all manner of things, so we're hopeful there can't be much more they can ask for!
We're applying for a HTB equity loan, they requested amendments to our application documents over the silliest little things!
I don't think I've ever checked my phone so many times in a day hoping for an update! 😂0 -
Aha that’s good then!! Yeah we did with help
to buy too it took two weeks I’ve been getting so stressed it’s taking so long we were meant to exchange on Monday that was never going to happen haha!! We’re just waiting to get the OK from the deposit and then the valuation will be instructed apparently! Fingers crossed anyway they’re happy!0 -
It took me a month from offer to mortgage offer, that was over Christmas / New Year.
There was a query with my deposit as they thought I was short by about half of it, so I resubmitted the statements to show the money I had.
The usual query about why I had adverse history.
Then needing updated statements for a date which hadn't even been produced by the bank at that point.
It was all quite painless, then Covid hit.
Pre-completion they do a phone call to run through how much you are borrowing and whether there are any changes to your circumstances, lasts about 5 minutes. But you have to pay your mortgage arrangement fee beforehand, via their portal.
I completed during lockdown and moved a few days later.
Received a welcome letter confirming mortgage payments etc, then a phone call to discuss payments and to say they are here for you throughout the mortgage, any issues or changes give them a call and they will work with you etc.
It's also the time to raise any questions or clarify anything. All I did was reconfirm about making 10% overpayments a year without ERC kicking in. Aside from that we were just chatting like we had known each other for years about anything and everything.
Have faith in your brokers 😉Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear it in 2026.2 -
Ah amazing! That really helps thank you, yes I’ve had the same regarding my deposit! My statements showed that we were a bit short so I sent on up to date ones with the correct amount in! So that makes me feel a bit better that that’s not unusual! Hopefully we will be ok then! Hoping I hear back again from them early this week1

They completely missed one account where I had a load of money 😉
Seemed a lot less painless than some people with normal lenders in all honesty. I let my broker and lender get on with it, paid money and called when asked, feels like I've been in my home for years rather than a few months 😁Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear it in 2026.0 -
That’s very reassuring thank you so much!! It’s so nerve wracking so stories like yours put me a bit at ease definitely! To be honest I’ve heard nothing but good things about bluestone just apart from the fact they take a long time, so think I just need to sit tight and I suppose no news is good news at the moment! But I do appreciate you letting us know it’s always nice to hear others experiences with them definitely!1

Developer have been in touch, Connells have asked for plans etc so looks like the valuation is getting booked! I hope this is a good thing!!1

@MovingForwards reading your story is certainly reassuring We were expecting the process to take forever, but actually hearing stories of the time other lenders are taking, I've been pleasantly surprised by Bluestone. To be honest, we'd jump through endless hoops if it means we can move into our dream house at the end of it.
@hopeful370 We were told by our broker to expect the underwriter to be reviewing our app at the end of the week before instructing the valuation, but the estate agent we're buying through has just emailed to confirm the valuation is booked for tomorrow! I thought that they did the underwriting before the valuation so now I'm totally confused 😂

Ah yes I’m pretty certain bluestone don’t instruct the valuation until they’re happy with the underwriting that’s what my mortgage broker said! Maybe your case was straight forward and they didn’t need any more info?? Our valuation is booked for Thursday so fingers crossed we may have an offer by next week!1

Bluestone have asked us for two more documents, my most recent payslip and a confirmation that my payday loan from quickquid is paid off. I’m a nervous wreck again now! Mortgage advisor said it should be okay but I’m just overthinking now cause it was paid back through a collections agency so I can only get a statement from the agency rather than direct from quickquid as they’re in administration and they’re impossible! I’ve tried for 3 weeks and the best I got was an email, so sent that over so im hoping they’re ok!
