  • They did this to us, they wanted an extra 10k! luckily we were fortunately enough to have the equity in the house to be able to do so!
    Did they, that is lucky!
For us it’s an extra 20 odd grand it’s just impossible, was feeling so hopeful after all these threads

    what did your MA say?
Looking to remortgage December 2022 onto a better rate!
  • Basically it went to the first underwrite and unfortunately they want 20 percent and could we lend it from family and friends or save it, I had to say point blank no! It’s not an option.

I said I’ll email our developer and let them know we can’t proceed and he said he would try some other options but it wasn’t looking hopeful.

Was this after your DIP was agreed at a different rate? What a nightmare! I’m so sorry

How frustrating! Did they say it was because they cant lend you as much as the dip after checking income or because if affordability?
Ours was reduced by 15k but we had just enough to cover it, now at the limit though so if they drop it again I dont know what we'll do. Hope you can get somewhere with this.
  • For everyone that’s new here
our application went in beginning of Jan via Ma & impact packaging. Impact have asked for a few extra docs - and the valuation was done 21/1/20.
Nearly 4 weeks at final underwrite now and every week we are told we’ll have an answer this week and still nothing.
9 weeks since we reserved the property and instructed solicitors & MA.
It has well and truly taken over our lifes, everyday I anxiously wonder whats going to happen. Even a letter from solicitor hasn’t hurried BS up.
Reading this thread has given me lots of hope but it’s very difficult when your life's are literally in their hands 😖🙏🏻
Ours went in 21/10/ 20, valuation should have been done on 22/12/20 but the wrong address was written down so it was re arranged to 14/01/21.  Valuation report gone to BrightStar and Bluestone we are at week 6 at the final underwrite stage.
New built house was reserved 14/09/20, solicitor paperwork all done now waiting for a mortgage offer..... it’s so awful waiting.
Last week more questions, we had to sign a retirement declaration form and also they asked whether my employment have moved to permanent yet ... been on contract 2 years and still waiting for contract to hopefully become permanent should hear next month.
MA put down my employment down as re-occurring ...
why my partner was paid double wages in Dec (his work office shut 2 weeks for Xmas so staff are paid  2 weeks off work) !!
MA said hopefully last thing they have asked us now so we have to wait another 7 days working days so nervous 😩

To be honest I feel my MA keeps giving me contradicting Info, I’ve spent all afternoon back and forth and them push for this extra 20 odd grand Which we don’t have, I decided to contact simply as they obv have a lot of dealings with them and they said it shouldn’t have been an issue and they will take over with my permission.

  • Sorry we are at week 5 after valuation not 6
  • Bluestone also asked why my partner was paid double at Christmas !!

I have actually just found out they aren’t offering 85 percent on new builds and that’s the real reason
