  • Hi does anyone know what is the current turnaround on document submission at the moment? ours is at the underwriter stage and its been here for over 4 weeks now. I am wondering when they might come back to us?

They did this to us, they wanted an extra 10k! luckily we were fortunately enough to have the equity in the house to be able to do so!
Please may I ask was this for a new build to? We have a DIP for 85% on a non new build and I’m worrying now that this could happen to us.
It was yes, and it’s only for new builds I think it might be a recent thing with covid as they said they normally would.

85 percent is fine on a non new build
Is there no way you could use Help to Buy as it is a new build property?

Looks like they are only doing 75% LTV on new builds.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

We are in week 9 of our application,
We sent in last bank statements 2 weeks ago, we are still at final underwrite stage, we are just so fed up now, our MA has now contacted head of underwrite who has now escalated our application. But last we heard bluestone had a 6 working day window to look at submitted documents. Also we was informed yesterday that bluestone timescales have now increased and working over time.
Which is no help for people like us using the old help to buy scheme 😔

Apparently it’s not available on our development 😔 a lovely lad at simply has said he would put my case forward they have asked for the developers warranty and a few more questions about the plot but I’m not sure it will lead anywhere
  • Hi I’ve been following the post for sometime. After having a horrible experience with Vida we started a mortgage application with bluestone. It went in on 27th January. We haven’t had a hard search. We were asked for a few documents a week ago (bank statements showing child maintenance and a letter explaining money that comes into my bank from my parents to buy food due shielding) yesterday we found out that we’ve been offered the mortgage 🥂 it’s been 3 weeks we’ve not had a physical valuation and have had very little information so we was very surprised to get the offer so soon after application and with only a few requests for documents! Does anyone know how long it takes to get the paper ‘official’ mortgage offer after the verbal? Keep faith everyone!

Oh Wow!! congratulations... so good to see that there is hope!! Did you go through any specific broker? Also did you have desktop valuation done? our MA said that we can request for valuation to get done, but if we get declined then we will loose the money. I had a talk to my partner and we are mentally (and emotionally) preparing that we aren't going to be able to get this mortgage before 31st of March and will have to pull out.
  • We lost our original house as Vida took so long - we had paid for all searches and all conveyancing to be done so lost al it if money!! However we needed to continue with the sale of our home so found a new house and put an offer in with a DIP with bluestone. We then again risked it all by staring if the conveyancing and mortgage application at the same time. All solicitor work was somehow completed within a week!!!! And now week 3 we have the mortgage offer all be it only verbal at the moment but we are exchanging Monday next week and completing hopefully on the 26th feb which will mean from offer being accepted on the house and moving in it’s 4 weeks which is surprising!!!
we used our usual mortgage advisor who used the packagers impact. Obviously, I can only say amazing things as our experience was amazing! It cost £99 so worth every penny!
I have adverse due to ex husband not paying a bill that defaulted only 1 year ago and new partner is self employed. I’m also in a new job so we’ve not been an easy case I’m sure!

Oh, Im so sorry you lost your first house. I am sure it must have been heartbreaking. I got too emotionally attached to our new house..now trying to detach, incase it doesn't work out. We have also started the conveyancing process, so fingers crossed we don't loose the money. Did BS know that you had the exchange date set? Did your MA do any chasing? as ours only tend to call them after a week...

Im so happy for you.. I hope your exchange and completion goes smoothly!
  • It’s been horrendous and I was heart broken I was more concerned for my children as they had started at the local school!!! (We are relocating over 2 hours away!!) so I continued to drive the massive drive to school and see the house that we should have had!! But now I feel so much happier with this house and that’s what I’m focused on! I hope you have a smoother journey than ours. and knew nothing about our dates and to be honest I’ve been going crazy as our MA won’t contact the packager!!! So it’s been nail biting! Thank god it was only 3 weeks! I think the research I didn’t on here helped as I had sent extra bank statements and wage slips once we moved into feb as I thought it would be something they’d ask for - maybe this helped? The packagers asked for loads of stuff before application too so I think that’s what assisted us getting an offer quicker as we had only the two document requests!
