Weren't moxia the ones who did battery storage a few years ago, with a max discharge of 300w or something equally pointless?

Can't say I remember them but they do 3 options now, 4.8kwh, 7.2kwh and 9.6kwh so I'm guessing they put out at least 3kw as with the pylons.
Scott in Fife, 2.9kwp pv SSW facing, 2.7kw Fronius inverter installed Jan 2012 - 14.3kwh Seplos Mason battery storage with Lux ac controller - Renault Zoe 40kwh, Corsa-e 50kwh, Zappi EV charger and Octopus Go
  • Is there a setting where I can only send charge to the battery if its below a certain SOC.. The scenario I am thinking about is "if"I am away for a day I will only need to cover my baseload for the day / days.  At present I pump as much in as I can in the "GO" low price period and because Im in I use some of that during the day along with any solar generation.  When Im not here I will use "not a lot" so any solar will probably go to the grid.  I could set max charge to 70% to give myself 3kW space for solar.
Its not important as we are not talking about a lot of money but interested ;)

Yes, I had one and sent it back. The charge and discharge rates were both below 500watts. The new package looks more interesting but there is nothing in the video or on their website about the technical spec (other than kwh) of the new one. They do though make it clear this time the useable capacity is less than the headline figure.

With the original battery I had there was no option to charge from the grid but that has been fixed. One thing I didn’t like was that the discharge rate was fixed and what wasn’t used went to the grid. Do other batteries have this problem?

The new battery package seems a totally different proposition but I get the impression that Moixa have more control over when it discharges than the user. I was offered the chance to trial the 4.8kwh version (as a replacement for my 3kwh battery) but at the time wasn’t convinced that it had the flexibility I desired so declined.

Having said all that I would be quite happy to deal with Moixa again but will wait until someone posts a review of living with one.

I believe most if not all inverters can vary the output to cover load, but not export.
Certainly the lux, sofar and growatt can, from my own experience.

Your moxia experience sounds absolutely rubbish tbh

So that's just over a year we've had the batts and the SOH has only dropped 1%. Quite pleased with that.
How are everyone else's pylons fairing ?

You are checking this with the adapter you made Scott yeah?

Does it tell you cycle count also?
You have made me curious to check mine.

Yeah you can get cycle count with a serial cable and the Windows batteryview app but you can get the SOH of your whole stack on the web portal .....
