I have a 2017 batt which is also 2nd hand.
Oddly enough, it's the two brand new 2019 batts that have dropped 1%. The 2017 batt is still showing 100%. Having said that, I got the 2nd hand one a few months after the new ones.

There's an official cable available if you can't be bothered knocking one up ......

    That’s quite pricey ?
Aye it's a bit steep but the alternative is buying 2 cables (a usb serial cable and RJ10 cable) and splicing them together, which is a bit of a faff.
Is that all you have done?

I thought there was a bit of electronics to it.
I certainly have plenty of old usb cables, and an rj11 crimper.

I've clearly been to lazy to read the post you did about this a while ago.
    Time to search back.

The electronics are in the usb cable. The usb end has an FTDI chip .....

I used wago connectors to test it before permanently soldering the wires .....

OK so youda seems to know his stuff, but the list of model numbers just confused me.

So the ftdi chip is just usb-serial conversion?
And so if I have an rs232 cable, a laptop that takes rs232, and can simply cut it down and splice with rj11, and this means I could have a bash tomorrow as I've got that stuff in my garage anyway.

Though it's cold, and I'm lazy so I may just buy the same as Micky if it works 😂😂

Look at the options up the top left and click on the one with (L) in it.
Then select the option which isn't ticked and it should change to English.

    Yeah saw that on YouTube.
It basically shows the same info you get with a serial cable and terminal app. Just sends it to a web page over wifi instead.
    Same commands too.
Handy maybe if you need to constantly monitor your batts remotely for some reason.

  • Finally got the octolux  scrips working.   Works a treat and automatically sets inverter to charge or discharge based on the current agile prices so currently will auto switch to charge if agile is 5p or lower.   Another cool handy feature is you can set it not to discharge the batteries if your soc is high and agile price is that low  you might as well use grid power
