anyone else having issues with the app/web view of the inverter/battery etc status?, mine is just saying offline. Ive checked the wifi signal on the inverter and to the inverter dongle and everything is fine.

Yeah same here.
Their server does go offline now and again though so nothing to worry about. Probably be back up soon, it was ok earlier.
Possibly down for maintenance/update.

Same here, been up and down like a yoyo but more down than up. You can connect to the inverter using the local connect feature of the app but you must connect to the dongle wifi first.

Well it all depends really on what tariff you intend to move onto, as well as how you want to use your installed PV and battery storage capabilities AND with a big reference to your house base load and typical energy usage etc...... if you also have an electric car, the use possibilities expand even more.

You've given people a glimpse of you solar & battery storage but no pointers to any of the other background detail that would need to be considered to help people help you.

As I said, we have just moved on to Octopus energy and on their stamdard tarriff, the idea being to wait until the smart meter is installed and the see what the options are.

We do not have an electric vehicle.  The PV panels generate between 8 and 26 kWH a day.

We are quite a heavy user - average use being 10 to 18kWH per day and my thoughts were around charging the batteries during off peak periods in order to smooth out the peaks which are around lunchtime and (more so) between 6 and 8 p.m.  The background load overnight is about 400 watts

I understand that this can be a complex subject, which is why I asked if there was a Mickey Mouse/newbie/introduction guide somewhere.

Just as an update on the Luxpower monitoring. I emailed them yesterday and they confirmed that their server had been down all of yesterday 9/10/23 and they it was back up again however it still seems to be on its knees. Unsurprisingly for a Chinese company they host their servers in Alibaba Cloud which is not a bad cloud at all but I suspect they are. not making best use of scaling solutions such as Autoscale and Serverload balancing both of which are designed to allow the service to be elastic and deal with peaks and troughs of load and also hide failures in backend infrastructure. Oh well, let's home they fix it soon.

I haven't been able to connect since yesterday and my batteries are continuously draining down. I have connected to Local Mode, set Charge Priority and Charge enable but this is having no effect at all (each time I log out and in again, they have gone back to being greyed out and the batteries keep blinking as they discharge.

The dongle is connected as the wifi connection (using an Android as Local Mode will not work with my iPhone 13pro) so everything should be OK - the initial page showing SOC, charging etc is working but I no longer have any control over settings

Please help!

had a call from infinity innovations tech people and they confirmed server issues in China last few minutes seem to be a little more stable with updates every time I hit the arrow update button. fingers crossed......

So here's the thing. Even though the server is having issues there is still some reachability. The server is set to overide any local settings so if you want your settings to remain sticky you need to isolate the Inverter temporarily from the internet. This can be done on your router by creating a deny policy to 120.79.53.27 IF you know how to do that and the policy needs to be the topmost rule. If you don't then the other thing would be to login to the dongle itself and change that IP to something like 192.168.53.27 and then reset the dongle. This will prevent it reaching their server until such time as we know the. server is stable again and then you can change it back. If you have ZERO IT knowledge then I suggest you leave well alone.
