  • i use home assistant to automatically turn on the lux charge priority when the car is plugged in to stop battery discharge from 00:30 to 04:00 then  homeassistant turns charge priorty off at 04:00 - works perfect, i even have it announce on a google speaker at 22:00 to let me know if its plugged in or not,   zappi inegration on home assistant opens up so many possibilities
  • Tried the "Quick Charge" and looks like it will run for 1 hour and will charge your battery according to the charge rate and battery level set in "Charge Setting" area. The charge can be stopped at any time, as once the Quick Charge button is pressed it turns orange and reads Stop Charge. Useful feature if you are on a tariff where you might get a low rate for 30mins on an evening eg octopus intelligent, to top batteries up in middle of winter.

  • Tried the force discharge during the Flux high rate export (16:00 to 19:00)  battery does discharge but only at 500 w despite discharge rate set to 100%.  Anyone else trying the function and getting a higher discharge rate.  No big deal but seems a little odd the house load at the time is about 300w so Im no where near discharge capacity

Just tried a forced discharge and achieved 3700w, make sure system discharge and forced discharge rates are set to level you want eg 100%, will give above figure. The discharge will settle lower after initial few mins eg 3600 ish. Also forced discharge is enabled and the time period start/end you want to discharge is set. Also if you are trying to discharge when the batteries are at low charge, the BMS may try and control discharge rate to a much lower level.

This is beyond my expertise, I don't normally use the forced discharge as I'm still on a Feed in Tariff. Just thought I'd have a go to see what happened if I tried.

  • Until someone (above) mentioned "Quick Charge" I had no idea that it existed. Have I missed something or is this new? What does it do?

"Does what it says on the tin"

You press button. Batteries start charging for one hour or until you press same button again (but now relabelled as stop QC)

    Hi folks,

I have just switched over to Octopus Energy and smart meters are due to be installed on the 20th of October.

So my question is: is the there a Mickey Mouse guide to setting up the Lux system to work optimally with Octopus etc. such as the various tarriffs and apps.?

I forgot to add that we have PV 4KW panels and 9.6KWH of battery connected

    Thanks for any pointers
